Dear sir, Shri Shashi Tharoor, Honorable Member of Parliament.
We, civil society group in Manipur feel much more happy and proud to have you in the Parliament as you look at you as our leader, guide and philospher.
Sir, the growing violence, corruption and law and order situation in northeast in general and Manipiur in particular needs your kind attention.
For over the last one month public unrests over extra-judicial killing of an innocent women along with youth in broad day light in cold blood the upset the entire system. Women are out on streets confronting bullet and teargas and Children are out of schools. The situation is turning bad to worst.
Northeast is affected by armed insurgency for over 5 decades but rest of India is also no better. You are aware that more of than of half of India affected by violent conflicts of different types and nature. We like your guidance to move the parliament to create budget for peace building processe by a legislation.
Locally, public is demand fair Judicial Inquiry by asking the present CM who also holds home and finance to step down and also hand over the case of extrajudicial killing (Tehelka 5th Aug 2009) in broad day light to the CBI for immediate relief. Unfortunately, the state government far from listening is trying suppress democratic demands and freedom of exprssion. Leaders of civil society movements have been put behind bars booked under National Security Act.
We shall keep you updated and also seek your advice. Deben

If the numerous outfits operating in manipur give up the path of violence. Then there will be no reason for any extra-judicial killing ,booking under National Security Act ,never ending bands ,road blocades, etc .It is upto the people of manipur to deceside what they want .For rest of India it is much more developed then North Eastern States .I think Sashi Tharoor being minister of state for external affairs has very littele role to play here.People of manipur has to stop playing RAMBOISM-and concentrate on creative ,unifying activities

Many of us are happy that Shashi won in Tvm. Finally here is a guy who has enough cash of his own and who does not need the money from the public. It is clear that politics is infested with the corrupt. Perhaps some more good / clean guys should join in politcs and try to do some acts with out greed and corruption.
It is to be seen how much a new entrant like Shashi can do from within the Congress where every other person is an artful thief.

Congratulations and Best Wishes for a great political career.

great tharoor,he spent his own cash to win the election from trivandrum, and since then he occupied the luxury suit in 5 star hotel,(which costed the govt-public approx 1 crore) until finance minister asked him to vacate with immediate effect & asked him for a 10% cut on his expenses.
go ahead & shower all praises on this begger in overcoat, we the tax payers are here to bear his luxury bills.

Regarding entry of Shashi Tharoor in Indian politics is good for the nation. In present scenario India needs people like Shashi.
