Elections 2009
by Jayant Giri on May 16, 2009 12:11 PM  | Hide replies

It is not who has won and who has lost. No dispension can ever come out unscathed in the conditions in which we are living. Each individual has aspirations which clash with the other next to him. Under such situation we have to be broad minded and concede to the one who is more needy. Again, it will be better for all of us if we forget such idiotic issues like building a RAM Temple. Who are we to decide whether RAM needs a temple. HIS temple is all living things in this world. If we see HIM in all living things there is no need at all to fight over the place.By wasting our energies on such issues we are lagging behind other countries. If development is there, it will lead to better life for all concerned. If we help ourselves RAM will surely be there to lend HIS helping hand.
Let us learn to live as Indians and shelve the narrow minded ness by seeing us as of this state or that region etc.

3. Media shud put an end to cover political parties’ developments and stop giving undue focus n attention to the politicians. Too much coverage to ex-PM’s knee operation and the current PM’s heart surgery was given, even as the commoner died on the streets.

Till such a reform is affected, this country wud languish under the rule of some petty politicians who by using our tax money protect themselves from terrorists attack with the best of security arrangements and leave us to die. Maharashtra's NCP Ex-Home minister, RR Patil had the audacity to call 26/11 a small incident, BJP's Saqeed Naqvi returned anger over people's discontent on 26/11 and Kerala CM insulted Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan posthumously - all these instances have a reason something common - these minister's close 1s did not die in these attacks. It wud have been interesting to note the words coming out of these very politicos had some1 close to them wud have died in the attacks. So indifferent r these politicians to the common man's sufferings.
Its our vote, our money - on which these villians ride and use it to their individual benefit.
SP's Abu Azmi's 'declared and known' assets have grown from 8 cr to 123 cr in 5 years. What wud have happened if I or any other commoner wud have amassed so much? Shud V have been spared by the Authorities. A thorough, honest search wud bring out even bigger figures, am sure. Aren't these politicians becoming more shamlessly confident about their wealth by the day?

And he is 1993 blast accused, though got reprive from the law for want of evidence.
Abu Azmi is just an example. The entire political fraternity is just as shameless. Its about time V scare the politicians with our might who have just started taking us for granted. Lalu Prasad is a case in point of high-handedness on people. He has been rude and impolite many a times to the common man coming calling on him. Coming back to the SP, its almost always in a very unique situation of neither being in the central power nor in the opposition. They always want to b in a 50-50 situation so that they can negotiate and black-mail with both the ends to make money in dozens. They don't want to be in power, to be precise to shoulder the massive responsibility if running a Govt. Another characteristic of that party is the way they wanna 'star-studd' themselves. They r very well aware of their weakness and so they try attracting the crowds with Cine Stars in Jaya Bachchan, Jaya Parada and now Sanjay Dutt. Rumours were agog with they approaching Sourav Ganguly who was mature enough to turn down the offer. Politics is not for somebody like Saurav; not atleast the SP. Y I chose SP particularly is bcoz V ne'er find them talking anything else other than personal enmity, personal issues and with which party will they alliance - U will ne'er find them doing anything concrete for the people.

Re: Elections 2009

No political party seem to b actually honest, with exceptions of a few individuals like Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Bajpayee, Mrs. Brinda Karat who really have some clean image to boast of. Its truly heartenening though that these people were chosen by their respective parties to b at the helm. Our politicians atleast have done 1 gud job in the process.
To have a more matured democracy, each individual shud have this feeling of belongingness top the society and towards the nation as a whole. Its about time V people realise the importance of getting and remaining united and also realise the might of this 'united' force. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm and drive for this unity is short lived and happens only after a 26/11.
Its V people who need to tell ourselves that in a democratic set-up, its the people who is the most important and strong force to reckon, provided we stay united.
Its about time V bring the following reforms to our nation:
1. Consider the elected people as employees and review them every week (instead of getting a say once only every 5 years) jus like employers review the employees' performance.
2. put an end to poilitical ways and netagiri of garlanding netas, letting them hold rallies et al. Such rallies r nothing but watse of money, apart from causing massive inconvenience to the commoner. Such rallies also give a good reasons of goons n the party to display their hooliganism and disturb peace.

How well said, Jayant. And it's truly impressing, your thoughts and the way U have been able to articulate it. The so called custodians of teh RAM TEMPLE wud ne'er make it in the 1st place, coz after it's construction they wud b left with no issues to talk of to the people. It was a bit unbecoming of the people of this country to get swayed by such issues and vote for them. Its also no less surorising that such political parties were not banned for fuelling feuds. Similary there's this 'NavNirman Sena' which does everything but 'NIRMAN'. If they wanna call destruction as 'nirman', then something's grossly wrong with them and so r the people who follow such ideologies. Its such political elements that r the reasons for the germination of hard-line terrorists. Shud the 1993 riots n blasts and all subsequent blasts b attributed to the safron parties and their Babri Masjid demolition Act? Was it notta huge cases og high-handedness over a 400 year old mosque. Every individual including Advani and Kalyan Singh deserve the highest punishments for the death of so many innocents across teh country and causing discontent and hatred among different communities.
And then there's this Ram Sene in Mlore, B'lore who had taken upon themselves the onus to decide what shud women wear amd how shud they act.
Well, no political part is perfect. Congress too tries to divide n rule by goin the Mandal Comission way. In today's India, things like reservation et al seem too irrelevant

No matter which party is winning, the ultimate winner is our democratic system. That is what keeps India above all these dictator and communist countries. Congress and BJP have same policies so it does not matter who is at the helm. Dr. Singh is the best leader to lead us during this global turmoil and Indians have said it loudly and clearly.

26/11 attacks are from enemy country and various blasts by IM are all the result of BJP demolishing Masjid and killing muslims in Gujarat. Now its all over and BJP has no future unless Congress does something silly by leaning too much towards some community.

People's verdict is clear 'no more communal parties, only development should be the agenda'

It is heartening to note that the voters have shown wisdom in their voting. slowly the Country is driving towards two alliance rule so that the nation develops. As already Congress helped to increase the prices of all commodities and made the life of common man miserable who does not mind in returning it to power, at least now trends be set to take on controlling the price line of essential commodities. Let the people live with whatever income they are getting instead of stooping low to politicize issues.

Any readers of Nostradamus prophecies ? Also there was a mention of " a widow gaining control of a country seven years after her husbands death", uncanny, is it not ?
