Not the question of BJP
by suryanarayan bhaskar on May 17, 2009 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

It is not the question of BJP. BJP is one of the many parties in India who get seats. BJP just happen to be the largest other party. What is the reason that an unproffesional party has come up so much.

The question is about the Congress. Why this pseudosecularism all the time. Why are they protecting a terrorist like Afzal Guru. Why do we not have a unfiform civil code if India is truly so called "secular" . Why should one community get first claim to resources

Shortlived

Yes this is election euphoria now for the Congress which will soon die down. People have become enamoured of white skins (aquarium fish) and voted for the Congress. The people will soon pay out of their skin to live. People will think about Modi magic once the euphoria settles down.

Secularism is the very Ethos of India
by Argumentative Indian on May 17, 2009 01:28 AM  | Hide replies

For over five thousand years, Bharat, Hindustan, India, call her what you may has been secular.
Our kings, emperors, noblemen, sadhus, thinkers have always supported divergence of thought.
Ashoka spread Buddhism.
Akbar, a muslim ruler, respected Hindus, married a Hindu woman and agreed to respect her religion after marraige!
Ramakrishna Parmahansa said, all paths lead to the almighty.

I think the terrorists (who, I can foresee from the state of affairs across the border, will be destroyed shortly now) attack pur people, the body of India.

The communalists on the other hand attack the very idea of India.

The people of India, the inheritors and custodians of this five thousand year legacy have spoken today.

Modi is not glamorous outside Gujrat. Gujrat is better place for him to be. He can continue doing what does best.

There is a net loss to congress of 2 seats and yet
by Amit Sharma on May 17, 2009 12:33 AM  | Hide replies

There is a net loss of 2 seats for congress and you at rediff still give publicity to some dimwit who says 'Balckmagic' did not work. This is one reason foreign owned press has to be eliminated from india.
