Singh is King
by Andrew Stevens on May 16, 2009 10:27 PM  | Hide replies

If for nothing else, then just be happy for MMS.

A Gentleman, Educated, Committed, Polite and Firm. A guy who spoke his mind to allies like Left can hardly be expected to be afraid of cowards and liars like BJP. While they barked and barked, his one quiet reply to Advani silenced them all.

He deserved every bit of his and his team's victory. Congrats.

Probably you didn't read the article. The word 'black magic' was used by Shaktisinh Gohil not by the reporter. Don't shoot the messenger.

Personally, I don't think Modi has any magic, white or black. What he has is some hate-filled crude 'ideology' which some people with sectarian outlook and religious hatred have taken to.

It cannot last.

Election Analysis
by Bharatwasi on May 16, 2009 10:23 PM  | Hide replies

If you consider few - seats, BJP has again done well in most of the states (except Raj) where it has good presence. The trouble for BJP is it doesn't exist in most states. So, it relies on partners like BJD and others.. Now, when these partners have left BJP it was always an impossible task for BJP to reach sizeable number. They in fact relied on TDP and AIADMK to defeat congress in those states. So, the verdict isn't surprising as far BJP is concerned.
In fact NDA govt was far better than any other givernments of the past. But, Congress can repeat success, NDA couldn't. Do you know why? Its DIVERSIFICATION theory! If you diversify in multiple portfolios you reduce the risks! In BJP's case, all pots are only in certain states. So, if any - happens there, it looks like a major defeat for them. Wheras Congress even during its worst time could easily hold on to 120 seats. Last time in fact Congress was defeted in all states wherever it was in straight fight with BJP. But still they won AP and TN and managed to stop BJP from forming government. BJP just doesn't exist in many major states like AP, TN, WB and recently in UP. If at all BJP wants to become real alternative to Congress, it must open accoounts in every single state. Then only it will be possible for BJP to contain its risks and pose as a serious challenger to Congress.
In current situation, perhaps it is good that UPA won elections with good number. People needed stable strong government, which is now possible.

Ok add BJD's 15 TDPs 4/5 whatever ... BJP is a national party or it's depend on regional party...
They should first decide which issue they should talk during election time...It's bunch of confused ppl who only speaks good but does nothing..

This is true. But, its because BJP relies on certain states only. This is why BJP is finding it difficult to cross certain numbers. In contrst Congress lost every single election since 1995. But they could hold on to one or two states and managed about 140 seats even during their worst period. Same cannot be said about BJP. When BJP's worst time comes, it may be even reduced to 2 again!

Second thing, I wished Manmohan to be PM and not Advani so I am happy with that but just woried about gujarat now.

Jai hind..

Lesson for BJP
by Andrew Stevens on May 16, 2009 10:10 PM  | Hide replies

There is two lessons for BJP here.

First, Advani thought he would be a better PM than MMS. Unfortunately, the rest of the country did not agree with him.

Second, Modi, Varun and team thought that they can take Indians for a ride by talking and spreading communal hatred only. Unfortunately, for them the public turned out to be smarter and realised that not once did these guys talk about real issues like development. So they threw out the communal issues and the party along with it.

Next time, don't take Indians for granted. Public is not as stupid as you think.

Politics of hatred, GOODBYE.

True, but we must also focus on the politics of appeasement.
Like that practised by Congi scums.
Very bad for India.
Hope MMS will do a good job in preventing this, now that the Left Fronth is dead.

Can't Cheat Physics! Congress Will Wreck Country!
by san man on May 16, 2009 10:10 PM  | Hide replies

The fools who voted in the Congress Party and voted for Royal hereditary rule under Prince Rahul, have only shown that illiteracy is incompatible with real progress. These people are only wrecking India's future, and when the rest of the world recovers economically, the spectre of rampant price inflation will come to haunt them.

you can fool some people all time, all people for some time, but you cannot fool all the people all time.
Replace 'all' by Congis.

I tried to replace "all" by "congis". It did not work (I got "you can fool some people Congis time, Congis people for some time, but you cannot fool Consgis the people Congis time). It read funny, and did not make any grammatical sense. Please check and re-do your valuable post.

NDA had six long years to improve literacy

Why did they not do it ?

It took just one year of intense campaign for Kerala to reach 100% literacy

Gentle man,
Today's road net work in India is the brain child of NDA. Congress was ruling the country for decades they did not have the vision to do that. One thing you should understand that the political and Government babus who are chamchas of congress cannot be made to change their mind over night it takes time. in that aspcte you should respect Karunanidhi. Right from beginning he is holding good rapport with these babbus and Government employees and he is successful. Do you call this governance then I bow to you.
