Left debacle
by ramachandran nair on May 16, 2009 05:22 PM

The utter arrogance and apathy towards popular sentiments are main factors for the left's debacle. In Kerala it is also the outcome of the groupism within the party culminating the marginalisation of VS and the Lavalin case apart from the total misrule of the last three years by the left government have contributed to the debacle which they richly deserved.

The CPM vandalised Bengal will bred anti-India virus
by zo khual on May 16, 2009 05:19 PM

The saying of "What Bengal think today, India thinks tomorrow" is consigned to history as soon as CPM ruled the State. Everything in Bengal fell apart after CMP plundered the State for more than two decades. If you have tears for our Bong countrymen, yesterday was the time to shed for them and pray for them Lest anti-India virus will start from unfortunate Bengal.

Left in doldrums
by Sreeram Ramaswamy on May 16, 2009 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

Left parties dug their own grave by supporting Cong-led UPA govt for 4-1/2 years. By doing this, they ceased to exist as a serious anti-Cong party/front in WB & Kerala, which is what they've been known for all along. People saw through their dubious game and vote for Cong in Kerala and TMC Cong in WB. This is a slap on the red face.

Left supported Cong just to keep away BJP able to form gov in centre. It was the Congress who did not follow common minimum program chalked out before forming gov. That started with the attempt to divest healthy PSUs like BHEL etc. You will see this in coming days.

CPM tried to eliminate smaller parties in Kerala during this election. Congress played this game with CPM one year back. That is all.

Division, once more plz
by Babun Pape on May 16, 2009 05:02 PM  | Hide replies

Bengal should make an appeal to UNO for separation from rest of the India with immediate effect or the future of the remaining Bengolees is not secured in the hand of anti Bengalee north-south Indian parties like BJP, RSS and other terroristic parties like Congress and Samajwadi Jatibadi parties. Or they will be extinct similar to other prabashee Bengalees.

u may be an eagle i dont object, but ur perspective is too wrong. as such mostly bengalis are condoned all over and u still think a separate bengal wud do better for us??? even staying attcahed with the rest of india bengal is falling far behind...she wud perish if separated. and this feeling of diffrence which u have manifested is the primary reason for our falling back. Iam not biased to any of the parties out there, but a chage is needed, however it is. And what we, the people ned to do is change our outlook first, and if some energy n time is left we gotta be enterpising enouf to pull up others. Iam a probashee bong for 10 years almost... and I love my homeland like all others...and this is what I think.

No more left policies
by abboral boral on May 16, 2009 04:53 PM  | Hide replies

Left and their misrule have broken and virtually killed one generation of young brain last 30 years .Stats shows that never ever young minds and brains of west bengal could stand on their own due to

1.1947 to 1966 ==people of Bengal suffered due to partisan .Some 3 to 4 lakh people of Bengal died due to riot, hunger ,illhealth ,no shelter and nearly 50 lkah people suffered due to displacement in undivided Bengal
2. 1966 to 1978 --thousands of most brainiest young mind in the world will killed due to naxalism ,so no development in Bengal
3.32 years of misrule in Bengal by left parties killed the aspirations of thousands young minds again

So I can conclude that the pillar of human being that is young brain of west bengal could never stand on their feet due to above reason so how west bengal will stand in development .Try to understand the logic

So time has now come to throw the left and left policies to bay of bengal forever and people should not carried away for this win rather they should work for development only .West Bengal has lost enough brains last 60 years but still brains are available to show the world that they can change the things for world of good for WB

Yes, change is necessary, if it is for betterment. But the opposition parties could not projected themselves as a good alternative to them. It is the nagative voting that raised the small parties like TMC. Mamta could have been done for the young bengalees when she was Railway minister. Instead, she resorted in making drama and lastly threw away the ministry.
West Bengal lost the opportunity to have a great potential of Industrialisation by loosing Nano to Gujarat.
Actually she is not a constructive leader.
During Naxal movement, it was the Congress (Siddhartha Shankar Roy govt.)who killed the young generation who posed to be a threat to their chair. So it will be correct to blame some hardliners in their Politbureau instead of the Left Policies as a whole.for the current situation in bengal. It is my belief that they will overcome the present situation.

CPM failed in the number game. Let all political parties note that this approach (number game) is dangerous to the country. It seems some unknown force work behind the screen to have a result like this. No one expected such a result. That force must be from abroad. LEFT front thought of help from China and Russia. Western countries are with the Congress. During election all countries including Russia nd China worked against India. It is time for the parties (UPA) to think well before proceeding with policies. These foreign countries have dug several deep traps to trap India. N-deal is one of them. This is a fervent call to Congress leaders to desist from proceeding with the N-deal. There is no use of requesting the Pm in this regard. The right thinking Congress men should rise to the occassion and demand the leadership to have a rethink on the N-deal.

To sustain 10 % growth for India ,we need plenty of power to run heavy Induatries ,Manufacturing sectors .500 km speed bullet train ,all round infra development including 70% populations of rural India ,So nuclear power is safe ,polution free ,clean energy which will be the next generation energy considering the depletion situation of fossil fuels by next 50 years .Development is not the end of todays situation ,it is continuous process and will continue as long as human exist .So N-deal with 35 developing Nations is the boon for India .Generation after generation will come but they will remember one man Dr Manmohan Sigh who gave India 1991 economic liberisation under able leadership of late PM Narsimha Rao and tacit support of Atal Behari Bajpai and 2008 civil nuclear deal .Pl think twice Mr Govind lal

Mr.boral
The contentious issues in the Hyde act are here.
1. No freedom to handle spent fuel.
2. No guarantee for alternate fuel supply
3. India is not a technology developer but a recepient.
4. India to side with US in NPT
5. India to participate with US National Security Administration for NPT.
6. Reporting of US President on the efforts of India in containing IRAN.
7. India denied space related dual use technology
8. India denied strategic planning of nuclear programms.
9. Stopped India in the production of fissile materials.
10.No joint move for universal nuclear disarmament.
11.All future agreements are to be in consistent with this act.
To know the debt trap behind the deal read my postings under " 'No downturn for India's nuclear power plan" 22.1.09 rediff.
The funny part is that even now MMS and party is justifying the declaration.
It is India's fate!!!
Concept of globalized economy is not aimed at for peaceful world. Theoretically globalization and free market economics can work among equals. How can a poor country and a rich country cooperate in this approach? The net result will be exploitation of poor countries. The rich countries evolve various models of operation and coax/coarse the poor nations to accept this for the advantage of rich countries. It is time the world leaders to think of evolving a working model which can be used by all rich/poor countries.
Hope you are Indian

Ideologies
by meghdut gorai on May 16, 2009 04:29 PM

Ideologies were never bad if you really see the ideologies written by karl markx....but the all deviated to suit their own needs...and the out come has come..may be they go for the core ideologies to regain their power...but some people like karat who only speaks and does nothing..and the media love him has defaced the left, if there are any good things they had done...Now it will be a stand still as virtually left and oppsition are in equal power in bengal. Beginning of 2001 there were a lot of dynamism in development in bengal...but all lost due to some corrupt people inside the party, and everything lost due to outspoken karat.
2 years of very tense time are ahead...
