this is happening just because elections are conducted during May, becuase most of the educated and middle class people go on vacation (only 45% voting in most of the places) And only slums, muslums, and farmurs voted who are in majority. this trend can change if elections are not conducted during april, may. bjp should put strong objection to this.
anyway, this govt will not last longer...

Exit polls are India are still not reliable
by Karthik T on May 16, 2009 05:10 PM  | Hide replies

All exit poll results in the last couple of days indicated that UPA would be leading but would still need major support from either the Left or other parties. Not s single exit poll result indicated that UPA would sweep the polls this comfortably. Even last night Prannoy Roy was indicating on NDTV that NDA might overtake UPA slightly. So ediff once again maintains its consistency in giving wrong information! Exit polls are nothing but a big farce to keep the media busy and keep the people glued to the TVs, etc and waste their time!!

last night when i saw the runner in cnn ibn reading dmk set to sweep the polls i thought that they had missed the a in front because almost all papers and channels were saying that aiadmk was going to decide the govt at the centre and when i spoke to my friends they laughed.see what has happened.we cannot write off exit polls.

Rediff you are really wrong. I pity you. NDTV exit polls showed 216 way behind 257 - deviation of 16%

CNN-IBN on an average 195 way behind the 257 mark of the UPA - a deviation of 25 %

And similarly every exit poll has a deviation of 25% from the value the UPA is getting right at the moment.

With this amount of deviation there requires no massive exercise to conduct exit polls and our own astrologer would do a better job.

Rediff, your claim that exit polls are accurate than ever is laughable as some previous exit polls too had lesser deviation or error than it is for 2009.

If rediff thinks that predicting who wins as the accuracy then there it is really laughable as that requires no massive exercise.
