the post - Amateur writing

In a democracy people have their own preferences and reasons to vote for political parties. It may be Cong, BJP, or any other party. Here the author is trying to impose his political leanings on the people by glorifying Congress victory in Delhi and asking the rest of India to follow suit (vote for congress).
Journalism is all about unbiased reporting that enables the public to make informed decisions and not about dictating to the people whom they should vote for.
If that is the case why not say Karnataka shows the way or Gujarat shows the way.

Good Result in the Interest of the Country
by satish bhatla on May 16, 2009 03:15 PM

A strong Congress government at the centre appears to be a near certainty. Hope that the new Government shall give good, calm & faithful representatives that are the good combination of youth as well as experienced Leaders (see if they can get rid of leaders like Arjun Singh, Paswan, Maya, Mulayam and Lalu). I hope that the up-coming leaders will definitely restore as well as increase INDIA's GAURAV. BJP should pass on the mantle to younger members who are more broad minded - like Atalji. Modi can be effective only at the state level. It should also become more inclusive to attract more support from the public. As far as my opinion (being an INDIAN) is concerned, The Party name is totally regardless & irrelevant subject to our Politics is in the Public Interest & far away as far as the word "CORRUPTION" is concerned.

We are happy that UPA will get the majority & will not be dependent on the Regional parties. In fact, we require only two good parties at the national level like in USA. The regional parties should not be able to dictate terms to the Central Leadership. Stability has been there in the progress of the Country. It is very essential for the Country and also for the Governance to work without any hassle. We all let us predict in the Interest of our own Country. Vande Matram...

With a Heavy Hand they Crushed the Opposition...
by Stephen Narayanan on May 16, 2009 02:45 PM

Had Sonia Gandhi taken on the mantle of Premiership offered to her on a platter by public reposing faith in her leadership the result would have been disasterous - for BJP.Their campaign star Sushma Swaraj would have had to shear off her tresses, wear white(widows weeds),sleep on the floor and eat only boiled gram - ridiculous as it may sound but this was the sound bytes from the horse's mouth-sushma's own vow.Rather than heap such a punishment on her Sonia decided to forego the Powerful Seat.Real power actually flows from the Leader to the party workers and this was amply demonstrated by Mrs.Gandhi in 2004 and in this elections it was Rahul & Priyanka who showed how positive charge could infuse life in the power. There wasn't any doubt at any time that Congress's heavy hand would pluck out the lotus and swat aside the elephant and put the sickle and hammer in the cold storage armoury.
