People have understood the past rulers, Mulayam, Amar, Mayawati and Kalayan Singh. UP did not develop much during their time. These past rulers have just exploited the public in the name of Dalits and Babrimasjid. India still needs ROTI, KAPADA AUR MAKAN, but certainly not any mandir or masjid or being messiah of Down trodden and underprevilleged.
your anti minority remarks are pushing them to go more vigorously towards congress and that party is very good in using them for 62 years without doing anything for them.Minorities do not have any expectation from them except they feel reliefed just bjp has not come.I believed some of the bjp leaders are more honest and efficient but need change their policies. There is nothing wrong with hinduvata but it must not be anti minorities.

have you listen varun gandhi speaches. It was embarassment for bjp muslim leaders.Thats what I am saying those policies can just polirised.
WHy not papper ballot counted right before the candiates in their contituency. Everything done right before the candiate and NO CHAWLA PEOPLE RIGGING election machines. New way to rule india by Forgery and Fraud by crime-murder-money mafia.
EVM rigged >otherwise, third front can still come to power
100% RIGGED, It is congress and BJP nexus, otherwise, third front can still come to power with BJP support.
Advani jumped to congratulate MMS so BJP does not support Third front.
I am saddened at NDA's defeat, much like I was pleasantly surprised when Congress won in 2004. Just as a change was necessary in 2004, a change was desperately needed in 2009. India just cannot do with a PM who takes Soniaji's permission to even go to the loo.
In my opinion, BJP is in the same position today as Congress was in mid and late nineties. The future appears bleak too unless the party somehow miraculously rejuvenates its cadres and is able to build a base in key large states such as AP, TN, WB, Orissa and Kerala and look at option outside mounting on the backs on unscrupulous allies. BJP today needs a Rahul Gandhi (much as I despise him).
There is a debate on who the next leader in the party would be. Frankly, this debate is a non-starter as the party badly needs workers rather than leaders. Modi's name as a successor has come too early. Only the person who can expand the party's base must be a contender and I am not sure if Modi has those abilities. He has won two elections in Gujarat, but then Gujarat was always a BJP bastion which it has never lost since 1989. In fact, during the earlier years, Gujarat used to send 20-plus BJP MPs to parliament, but now far lesser.
In the early 2000s after Sonia retained the party's presidency, someone quipped that if BJP workers were asked to elect the congress leader, it would have been same. Ironically, history repeats itself and if Congress workers were to elect a leader for BJP today, it would be Narendra Modi!

This election has shown that Indian democracy is maturing. In a democracy there is no room for extremes. It is therefore heartening that both the Left and the fascist BJP have been defeated.
Thank god she is out of power I am supportoe of BJP but am happy that if BJP does not come into power congress is making gorvenment without any post poll alliance

She is still the CM of UP. THese are Lok Sabha elections, not State Legislature elections. Kindly read the constitutional structure of India before commenting.

The effect of Rahul Gandhi may not be the number one reason. - Farmers Loan waiver - employment guarentee scheme - Kalyan singh joining with Mulayam - Varun Gandhi - Rahul gandhi effect - Presence of candidate like Azharuddin

Varun Gandhi won with more than 284000 votes. Its was SP loss and congress's gains as muzzlis shift their favours to congress at the cost of SP and BSP.
electing a government away form Mayawati and CPM......Manmohan singh as PM....Tharoor at external affairs... it cannt be better than this...Good Work Congress!!!!!!!! JAI HO INDIA..

Showing Muslims,Christians, Minority communities AND Pakistan as an excuse, BJP is trying to polarize Hindus VERSUS Rest of the Communities Votes in India. However BJP did not FORESEE that propagating Hinduism will intrinsically IGNITE Casteism in India.
As per Mandal Commission, 54% Indians are BCs and 25% SC/STs. And these communities will eventually INSULATE themselves from BJP's Hinduism. Post Babri, Hinduism has cascaded to Casteism in India. Hence BC/SC/ST leaders like Lalu, Mulayam, Paswan, Mayawati have emerged. And Kumaraswamy, Naveen Patnaik, Nitish Kumar have just started deserting BJP's Hinduism.
* And there is NO such thing as Hinduism **till** 85% of all registered marriages in India are INTER-CASTE. * Till then the truth is there are NO Hindus in India.

Advani's political career is ending in disgrace. I just heard on TV that he is quitting politics and BJP. Running with his tail between his legs... So much for 'Iron Man' who called MMS "Weak"!
