both are uselss ....
by Sunit Kumar on May 15, 2009 03:43 PM  | Hide replies

both are uselss .... CPI is now actually starting to do the right things under Buddha dev and Mamta is doing the opposite, after sinking bengal for 32 years the left has started doing what right (read BJP) has been doing.

Buddha does not listen to the so called Polit-Bueraue dumb as like karats or any one...

The only danger is, u never know who comes after Buddha because he may be a SOCIALIST and can ensure all the so called factories are shut down....so left is risky...

Mamta is a village idiot, if she had litte brains, she would have ensure NANO to survive in such a way as keeping the pressure on Buddha till now !!! She may be non corrupt and fasting but in 21 century do we need leaders like that, we may as well bring on some SADHU !!!

Guys guys guys i am helpless to understand the logic...

Between i dont think left is loosing in a big way, if that happens we will another revolution in Bengal and the people will have to wait for another 32 years to see any development !!

Problem with leftists is that today they have moved away from their ideology. That will cost them hugely in the rural areas of WB. Besides they tell something publicly and do the opposite.
Its difficult to say that Mamata is of no good. Her tenure as central minister for railways did bring a lot of development for railways & completion of some old projects. Problem with her is that she is whimsical a bit.Lets not forget that TMC had also run the Kolkata Corporation quite well.
Besides we cannot judge the opposition without putting them in the chair at list for a tenure.Ultimately its upto the people of bengal to decide.
But left is expected to get a good thrashing tomorrow.

EVM
by abhijit dutta on May 15, 2009 03:19 PM  | Hide replies

Mr Nandi, u are hoping for a big TMC victory. Me too. And the wind too seems to be ominous for the left. But the only thing that may spoil TMC's chance is the EVM. Being a software controlled electronic machine it can be manipulated in a number of ways to go in favour of a particular party. With the state's machinery still in the hand of the left, they can do it quite easily. Infact there already has been a lot of reports in local newspapers to this effect. So Kolkata and nearby seats are the only one which TMC can hope for as there was fair polls due to the presence of central forces. But one cannot hope much for the seats in the rural bengal. If it were a paper ballot, I am dead sure that things would have been completely different.

I am not hoping anything. I am following the WB politics intensely. I agree to your views on EVM.But please understand that left front has not been in power only through rigging. Its the public who had voted in favour of them till date to keep them in power. Mamataji's view may be different. But the ground reality is , its not possible for CPIM to manipulate such huge number of EVMs.They can manipulate a few booths only. The volume of job is very big. I dont believe they can win whole of WB only through rigging. It is possible only in a few areas may be 1/2 seats but not more.BSF jawans & paramillitary is in vigil in all strong rooms in whole of bengal both city n village areas. So lets see....

Seats will be won or lost not by lakhs or crores of votes but by a few thousands or even few hundreds only. This time it will be even more close contest. So your claim that manipulating a few EVM in each seat will not make any difference doesn't make sense. If it doesn't make any difference then why on earth any party rigs.

I told u , if the difference is a few votes then the question of rigging arises. But if TMC gets 1 seat as last year then its public voting.
But booth capturing is really difficult in todays scenario and manipulating EVM is not so easy with the central forces around.

Mamta's dilemma
by Rough Tough on May 15, 2009 03:14 PM  | Hide replies

Pranab babu has played a politcal masterstroke with Cong-TMC alliance in Bengal. He has been able to cut the left to size nd now with the prospect of Left - Cong alliance in centre, it seems tht he has been able to virtually bagged 42 seats from bengal- truly amazing.
This equation really puts Mamta in a fix. Now she stares at teh biggest political dilemma of her career. At one side she has the prospect of seating in a parliament by left by her side nd in other she can sense her prospect of change inwest bengal go haywire if she parts with Cong on the issue of left. It is to me the most interesting contest to watch out for

My expectation is that Pranab Babu will be the key man in keeping the TMC Cong alliance intact atleast till next assembly election in WB. It all depends on the election result in WB. If this alliance can bag 26 seats (as they claim but not difficult with 6-7% swing)then left becomes nowhere.
The other way round if Mamata joins UPA directly & becomes central minister , can the left extend support to that ministry? What do they explain to their cadres?

Mamta - A Better Municipal Councillor, but not CM
by somnath bhowmick on May 15, 2009 02:32 PM  | Hide replies

Mamta with her rouge attitude and behavior can be a Municipal Councillor at the most. Cannot even imagine her as potential CM of a state.

And if she ever becomes CM (her ultimate dream, though most unlikely), I think that will be the last day for a peace loving state like WB.

Did I read correct when you said PEACE LOVING state?????

Is Bengal a peace loving state.
The state with most violence, most bandhs, ruling party ignoring Supreme Court ruling as if the land is their father's Zamindari( read baper jomidaari).

How less peacefull can she make the state?

by yele on May 15, 2009 02:25 PM  | Hide replies

If BJP should not take support from
Mulayam
Lalu
Paswan
Mamta
Jaylalitha
CPM
and BSP
The party leader of above are very currept. Better BJP /NDA should sit in opposition no problem but they should give an example of clean govt. If any of above paty supports than BJP should tell clearly that support is welcomed but no deal, no birth in ministry to any of above party leader. Than perhaps this Hindustani fool Public could understood something.

Congress will not dare but BJP should do this.

Its time BJP owns a TV channel else they will be buried silently
by Balaraman on May 15, 2009 02:23 PM  | Hide replies

REAL FACE OF biased INDIAN MEDIA.
Every media is owned by overseas Christian organisations. It was difficult to believe but the Election coverage by TV Media is prooving the point.
BUT NOW IT IS PROVED BEYOND DOUBT.
(1)No TV Media aired the News on the suicide of Senior Vadhera. If any such death had
happened in the family of a BJP person, the Media would have gone agog with the
news.
(2)Teestha Setalwad was exposed of creating most of the Gujarat Riot Stories and in
fact taken the Supreme court almost for a ride.Imagine a similar offence by the
opposite side. There would have been discussions, hen fights, opinion polls and
SMS surveys.

The MEDIA OF THIS DECADE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR AGES TO COME. IT IS A BLOT ON JOURNALISM.

Is there any Indian who will lodge a criminal case on Testha Setalwad for her crimes against the communal harmony of this country?

Itsa Fact that the English Media is absolutely biased towards the congress because, BJP dont give throw Faithful Dogs of Congress.
The Dog Barks to Keep it's Masters happy.
See what happened in Gujrat?...they twice wrote off MODI and created an Opinion and Exit poll to suit congress.
But The people of Gujarat and Modi had their laugh at the dogs.
So dont attach too much importance to what the english media writed.....most of them are "OPINIONATED"
Let them bark...people knows what and whome they want and are electing accordingly.
