What is scientific rigging?
by Krishna on May 13, 2009 05:43 PM  | Hide replies

I have been hearing about this since my childhood, this time also Mamata will tell this after 16th. But can someone tell me how scientific rigging is performed? Why it is called scientific, and what is the difference between scientific and non-scientific rigging? I really need to be enlightened?
And regarding this Roy Moitra, whoever she is I congratulate her for fooling rediff, (at least one more job to a bong, employer being a Marathi)because she will also vote for CPM.

Scientific rigging is just rigging without using brute force. In this case, CPM goons simply fix electoral rolls, and on election day, ensure that genuione voters are not able to come to vote or find out their names are missing. Or that someone else has voted in their name.

Similarly, if this does not work, in known anti cpm places, they create crowds or long lines using their own people, who will keep raising issues and arguing with poll officials, delaying the whole process. The idea is to put off the genuine voter who moves away rather than wait for hours.

If irt is so then how come in some votes the opposition become winner? Say for example when Mamta is winning always or congress traditionally win few?

Salil,
You believe this happens only in WB? If this is happening for the last 32 years in large scale, then how come the election commission and Press are unaware and never report it?

Agreed, this may happen in few places, but that happens everywhere in India. Can you share any source for this to support your argument that it happens in large scale in WB?

Somnath, you and I both know the truth. There is little presence of opposition in rural areas. CPM cadres identify opposition voters and then pressurize them in n number of ways. Plz. do not ask obvious questions, we all know CPM has murdered in excess of 30000 opposition supporters in last 32 years

Rigging is done by all parties. When Trinmool Congress has won 12 seats in 1999 election, do u think that they have rigged?

The election culture in Bengal has been ruined . CPM & TMC are different sides of the same coin. Its a pity that we don't have an opposition which talks about development . CPIM anyway has ruined the state.

Mr Samrat, people like you are incorrigible. You will never learn to admit that the left is returning to power on the popular support. Do you think it is possible to rig elections in the face of such security arrangements?

If Modi wins two terms successively, it is on Gujarat development...if left wins, it is rigging. Stop bashing left just for sake of it

Right you are, CPM has ruined the state, so if people are still voting for them they they are crazy (brainwashed)/pressurized by cadres.
