election
by aaaa bbbb on May 14, 2009 08:52 AM

Do u call it "Great Indian election" because u spend 50000 crores for campaigning alone and all these money are going to be looted 10 times more from the public by the politicians??....or without any principles the winners will side shamellessly with their opposition for getting ministrial posts?..or for several genuine voters names have been deleted??....or hardly 45% voters only have cast thier votes??

It is a election rule under section 49 - O, which allows a voter to cast a null vote. You can get a form at Polling booth fill it and register that they don't like the candidate. Casting your vote is your right and duty. By casting a null vote you are not violating the rule.

What is the advantage?

It is a unique feature of our Indian constitution that it has provide the legal right to the voter to reject all the candidates. Section 49 O of Election rules in 1961, has empowered this right.

If the 45% of the people feel that the candidates are unworthy, the best way to communicate this view to the politcal party is not by their absebtism, by filling the form 49 - O.

If the number of votes for 49 - O is more than the other candidates vote,
the election itself get cancelled. The candiates cannot compete for the
next time. So please if you don't like the candidates vote for 49 - O. Use
this weapon against the politicians.

Requirements

49 - O should be kept secret. There should be a button for 49 - O

As per the election rules 49-O, u can vote for no candidates. In our country election is thro a secret ballot. The Election commission wanted to ensure all the votes are registered thro electronic voting machines. The unfortunate thing is , there is no button on the electronic voting machine to vote for no candidate as per 49-0. To my knowledge, there is a case pending with this regard before the Supreme Court which is awaiting the final decision. But, in any case u can cast 49-O by approaching the polling officer incharge. But again, the concept of 'secret ballot' is lost and safety is a much concern. Therefore it is high time that election commission should come forward in adding the button in the electronic voting machine to prevent any untoward incidents like yours.

yes u are right prabhakar.....but this time due to the high conciousness anong electorate about 49-0, they have decided not to allow the same during this elections. Of course several cases against this decision are pending.

Only, our youth with right frame of mind can work for required change in the interest of all.Believe me, if our DEMOCARAZY continues like the way it is, many odd and bad things will mushroom and you know what will be the result.

Guess what would be UPA’s next move if they cling on to pow
by annamalai on May 14, 2009 12:44 AM  | Hide replies

Very soon all signs of Hinduism Ashok chakra Lotus may vanish In a move that touches the pit’s bottom, UPA has changed the emblem of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan from Lotus and shining Sun to Cross and Crescent. And this has been done in the name of “broader reflection of national ethos.” Board of Governors of KVS in its 79th meeting held on 26.6.2008 approved the new logo and a circular was sent to all offices and schools of the Sangathan on July 17, 2008, to change the emblem in all the publications and communications. Though the chairman of KVS, HRD Minister Arjun Singh did not attend the meeting, the minutes of the meeting stated that the emblem has been approved by the chairman. His deputy Shri Md Ali Ashraf Fatmi, Minister of State, HRD & Deputy Chairman, was also not present at the meeting. circular issued by the Asst. Commissioner (Acad I), KVS, said “in order to give a broader reflection of national ethos and ought (sic) to be inclusive of challenges, opportunities, rationalistic, scientific and global thinking, advances in science & technology & social changes taking place in the society” (sic) the new emblem has been created. The picture shows a book with blank pages, and apparently two human forms emerging from globe. The crescent (an Islamic symbol) and two crosses and stars (Christian) are obvious. UPA govt released coins of Rs 2 denomination with cross on them. There is move to change our national motto ‘Satyameva Jayate’
