The Ezuvha's, Chouvans, Palayers get a barrel of arrack the night before to vote, with vehicles and party officials waking them up for the vote for one days wages.
Elections in India are the biggest stimulus package in the world. Whatever Obama does is usurped by the so called financial genius' and reinvested in derivative hyperboles. Black money spent by the candidates reaches the nook and corner of our country. Lets pray that there are elections of different sorts for Parliament, Assembly, Panchayat etc. every year. Long Live Indian Democracy.
Itz really a shame for the govt gazetted officer who wrks as polling officer. they r least bother abt voters ,but keen in their tiffen and money. the same thing happened to my wife in sriperumbudur constituency exactly at modern school at nanganallur. sham eon these govt officials...
This is actual India. Politician talks abt development. They cannot built proper roads and provide with basic necessities. But when the time id for election, they are ready to pay 300 also for a vote. This is a common practise everywhere. The system is to be blamed for the same.
Is 200 rupees a vote a national standard? In Orissa, BJD (Biju Janata Dal) has given that amount to all of the voters with the exception that it is, unlike Tamil Nadu, uniform through out the state.
