Burn Ravan's effigy to celebrate BJP's loss
by Bharat Soni on May 14, 2009 02:50 AM  | Hide replies

India should celebrate the victory of good (political parties other than BJP) over evil (BJP) by burning Ravana's effigy like we do on dussehra. Effigies of Ravana Advani, Kumbakarna Naidu and Megnadh Modi should be burnt all over India day after tomorrow.

Congress would have won more than 300 seats
by Raj Adhikari on May 14, 2009 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

Congress would have won more than 300 seats if 26/11 terrorist attacks have had not happened. Indians have a great respect for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and really appreciate all his policies, be it foreign relations, investment or defence. I really want to congratulate Dr. Singh for leading by example. He will go into the history of India as one of the best Prime Minister ever. I would also request him to concentrate more on improving our intelligence and strengthening our commandos and police forces. India cannot keep responding to our enemies for their foolish attacks but we as a strong nation could avoid casualties if we have better intelligence. The attacks by our enemies are proof of their frustration as we are growing fast and are on our way to become a developed country.

According to congress:

Sikhs getting slaughered in thousands = A MISTAKE.
hind us getting killed in Kashmir = Political problem.
mu slims getting killed by a few hundred = Holocaust.
Poor protestors getting shot in WB under Left Govt = Misunderstanding.

Banning Parzania in Gujarat = Communal.
Banning Da Vinci Code and Jo Bole So Nihaal = Secular.

Kargil Attack = Government failure.
Chinese invasion in 1962 = Unfortunate betrayal.

Reservations in every school and college on caste lines = Secular. Reservations in Minority institutions = Communal.

Fake encounters in Gujarat [Sohrabuddin] = BJP Communalism.
Fake encounters under Cong-NCP in Maharashtra [Khwaja Younus] = Police atrocity.

Talking about hind us and hind uism appeasment = Communal. Talking about mu slims and Islam = Secular.

BJP freeing 3 terrorists to save 100 Indian hostages = Shameful
Congress freeing 4 militants to save just a life of one daughter of I Home minister in Kashmir [Rubina Sayed] = Natural Political dilemma.

Attack on Parliament = BJP ineptitude. Not hanging Afzal Guru the mastermind despite Supreme Court orders = Humanity and Political dilemma.

BJP questioning Islam = Communal. Congress questioning Lord Ramas existance = Clerical Error.

Great compilation. Hats off to you dude. Just a small correction. Congress questioning Lord Rama's existence = Political debate.

And these are the views of not only Cong, but that of Left Front, SP, NCP, RJP, LJP etc.

Guess what would be UPA’s next move if they cling on to pow
by annamalai on May 14, 2009 12:59 AM

Very soon all signs of Hinduism Ashok chakra Lotus may vanish In a move that touches the pit’s bottom, UPA has changed the emblem of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan from Lotus and shining Sun to Cross and Crescent. And this has been done in the name of “broader reflection of national ethos.” Board of Governors of KVS in its 79th meeting held on 26.6.2008 approved the new logo and a circular was sent to all offices and schools of the Sangathan on July 17, 2008, to change the emblem in all the publications and communications. Though the chairman of KVS, HRD Minister Arjun Singh did not attend the meeting, the minutes of the meeting stated that the emblem has been approved by the chairman. His deputy Shri Md Ali Ashraf Fatmi, Minister of State, HRD & Deputy Chairman, was also not present at the meeting. circular issued by the Asst. Commissioner (Acad I), KVS, said “in order to give a broader reflection of national ethos and ought (sic) to be inclusive of challenges, opportunities, rationalistic, scientific and global thinking, advances in science & technology & social changes taking place in the society” (sic) the new emblem has been created. The picture shows a book with blank pages, and apparently two human forms emerging from globe. The crescent (an Islamic symbol) and two crosses and stars (Christian) are obvious. UPA govt released coins of Rs 2 denomination with cross on them. There is move to change our national motto ‘Satyameva Jayate’

Spare me the horror!!!
by Jay Sen on May 14, 2009 12:42 AM  | Hide replies

Commies ruling India!!! The very thought gives me nightmares. It is not so much about what they will do to the cities or to agriculture. They will screw them up anyway with outdated policies.

Who amongst Commies has the stature to lead India? A gerontocrat like Jyoti Babu? And who else would be in leadership? With the current anachronist bunch that lead the commies - India deserves better. Please!!!

This is not to say that the other parties are any better or less shameless. But the commies are much more sinister. They exercise anti-national agdends - Bangladeshi infiltration e.g.

One look at the rickety shambles that West Bengal has become in 32 years of Left rule is enough to convince anyone that India CANNOT be trusted to Commies. They will destroy whatever work ethic is left in India and hound out industrial investment. And play havoc in new sectors: Unionise IT/ITES, BT sectors - pass a law mandating it!!! Commies do not understand modern industry or new kinds of job opportunities. For them, its still the unions from the smokestack world - thats their constituency!!!

Result: They will reduce every city in India to another Calcutta in 3 years.

It bleeds one heart to see the systematic way they have destroyed a once-great city like Calcutta.

All they have done in 32 years is take the state backward, modernity is conspicuoulsy absent is large tracts of rural Bengal.

West Bengal has become goonda ruled - CPM cadres are corrupt, rich and rule by guns.

I think you are grossly mistaken good sir. "Commies" ? isn't that a US coined term by which they referred to the numerous Vietnamese and Afghani people they slaughtered in fear that their communist agendas might hurt the capitalist interests of the US. And Since u refer to jyoti basu, someone who had been in power for 23 years in bengal - a 'gerontocrat' which im pretty sure isnt a word, i would like to point out that despite the many mistakes that he is alleged to have made - he is one of the most successful CMs in our country to date and i personally would prefer to have a 'gerontocrat' like him in the seat of power rather than the TMC chief who would not measure up to him in either experience or education or perseverance or honesty. "Commies do not understand modern industry or new kinds of job opportunities.". I must be mistaken but i thought it was the 'commies' that had brought the high-tech industrial sectors to bengal in the first place rather than your 'Mati'r Manush' TMC chief, and they would have done a great deal more if it wasnt for the deliberate constant short-sighted and destructive belligerency on behalf of TMC. You say CPIM is hurting bengal's infrastructure, well the infrastructure is there because of CPIM. Mamata wants the entire state to give up policies that support industrialisation and go back to farming - or is that just propaganda to get votes of 'Mati'r Manush' like you ?

Jyoti Basu & success, please spare me the joke. He was a joke in the name of leadership. He is single-handedly responsible for taking the state backwards by another 50 years.
Commies drove away the hosiery industry, closed the majority of the jute industry, many big industries like Metal Box etc. What infrastructure is there in WB for industry? Your party demands donation to party fund to everyone trying to invest in WB. Please don't talk B/S here.

'Mamta' and 'Change' just don't go hand in hand! I think Bengal doesn't seek Mamta, it's her who seeks Bengal. The All India Trinamool Congress is actually a party of losers who defected from the Indian National Congress. Mamta was expelled for refusing to retract her statement calling the BJP 'not communal'

A bit hit to the CPM - WB is doing that
by Manojit Sarkar on May 13, 2009 11:12 PM

The writer is misguided by our love for Rabindrasangeet being a proof enough to just have emotional bias and not the knowledge required to form a good government. WB very well understands that Mamata "Theatre" didi is not at all the viable alternative to the commies. It is trying to give the commies a big blow via the LS Elections, post which they can think of a reform and rectify it's mistakes. (Which are BTW with the senior politburo leaders and middle level workers.) Unfortunately the commies lack the leadership and as they do not work majorly on caste based politics like Cong & BJP & all south parties they were unable to reach the Indian mass across different North/ South states. Otherwise, India lead by the commies, would have been at a different level today. Perhaps not cash rich with thousand discos & IT giants, but a major force from within- a self oriented and self sufficient nation.

plea to Congress/Secular party Pls do not divide nation further
by Balaraman on May 13, 2009 10:48 PM

On religion language north-south basis
Latest in the series of controversies centred on the Congress party’s fixation with Muslim grievances is the data collection exercise involving the Indian Armed Forces.
It is irrelevant and mischievous to mention about caste-based divisions in the Army during the British rule.
Congress leaders not only divided the country politically but also militarily. The military officers and men of pre-independence India , belonging to all communities fought the WWII together under the British.

Pakistan got a ready-made army at its birth. When Indian Muslims got Pakistan they also got a Muslim army carved out of the undivided Indian Army. This army produced Pakistani generals and officers who fought wars with India — the first full scale war being in 1965. This is history in living memory.

The Congress party having divided and ruled the country for decades is continuing with its dangerous game and monstrous thinking of doing a head count for the Army now.

What do we expect more from Dr. Singh and his team ?
by Sirisha K on May 13, 2009 09:03 PM

Congress led UPA government headed by Dr. Singh did a commendable job in their last term. The whole world appreciates the way Dr. Singh and co handled the economic affairs during the global recession. They were brilliant in keeping inflation under control considering that inflation rate was going up like 25% in most of the countries. But what did the MMS government lack or rather what does Indians expect from them in their next term ? I know for sure that Defence would need a bit more priority considering the fact pakistan is under a big turmoil.
