Mamata is strict NO for Bengal
by TANUSREE BAIN on May 13, 2009 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

Her immaturity in hndling political and economic issues are evident .... and Mamata is the last thing that the people of West Bengal wants, not that the Left Govt is too good but it will prove to be better than Trinamool Congress under the leadership of the presnt CM.

she never became a true opposition.TMC is perhaps the most disorganised political party in the country today.A few good minds who joined her when TMC was formed, have wisely distanced themselves from her. Bengal definitely needs a change, but like national politics, who's going to take charge ?

PLEASE CHANGE THE SYSTEM
by fcs kon on May 13, 2009 12:58 PM  | Hide replies

32 years is not a joke, what progress have you seen in this time? At least, I have not seen any significant change and if there is any those were obvious. Idea of making industry in WB by ruling government came only last 5 years. Then what happened in last 25 years. Not only industry but education, law, health, and work culture in our state have been ruined by ruling government. In school, college, university, and everywhere they introduced bloody politics!! Earlier Calcutta was our capital, now I can not imagine the same. So if we want make our state better lets do something different that ruling government is doing for last 30 years.

I don't know about the other statements mentioned in the article, but having lived in Kolkata for some time, it seems very true that logic and common-sense are alien to Bengal. Being emotional is alright, but the cost the state has paid for this 'emotional' mentality seems very high. Grimy air, rickety, horrible-looking public transport, crumbling buildings, morchas and processions at the drop of a hat, a work culture that is remarkable by its absence..is this what being 'emotional' is all about...one wonders...

It is in fact your mind set that needs to be changed. Don't live with perceptions on WB which is 15 years old. WB has already changed over ht e last 15 years. And, oppositions will always have something to fight for in elections...I remember in last election they sought "Either Now or Never"...I am pretty sure that they were right!

you are biggest duffer, head full of bulll shit. what communist has done for wb for so many years. even budhha also for do it now. is it happening. why to blame mamata all the time. they are in opposition and they are doing what the opposition is suppose to do. after all all this tricks learn from the communist. you have to teach this ill communists the way they under stand. opposition is doing harm without power but communits are doing staying in power like opposing computer, opposing privatisation, opposing english education, not opening up more engineering and medical college and so many. you bull shit have any answer even your master does not have any answer. even the duffer buddha told atleast 50 times that i have done mistake but not learning anything from that. if a cm commit so many mistake and accepted publicly whether he has any right to stay in power.

Maybe good change for Bongoli
by Thing on May 13, 2009 12:55 PM  | Hide replies

The Bongs need a breather. The memory of people is short so they won't remember how eccentric this Banerjee is. But it will be good to see some change for change's sake in Bongol. After that the Left Front can rule for another 30 years.

Yesterday one councillor was caught red-handed taking money from the contractor, such things never happened before in WB. Trinamool will bring political corruption in WB.

How can you certify Mamataji before she gets a mandate ? Further do you think that WB is now better than UP & Bihar? Ofcourse Kerala is much better than WB 'cause LF comes every alternative term and their evilworks being rectified by the UDF or vice versa. But such a phenomenon never takes place in WB for the last 32 years.

NO NO NO
by devashish chakravarty on May 13, 2009 12:49 PM

For Heaven's sake NO.....
Mamata Bannerjee is the last thing that should happen to this already hoprless state called Bengal. She is best at shouting, criticizing, dramatizing small issues out of proportion and absolutely zero political scruples.
She should never be the change Bengal desparately needs, to be honest, there is no ray of hope at present.
