Election expenses are the major draw back of democracy
by Arif Naseer on May 12, 2009 12:05 PM  | Hide replies

There is a need to change the current pattern of democracy. there should be a debate to chunk out a modified pattern of democracy in which no scope should be left for corruption and every citizen of india should be represented in equal rights. Now time has come to think differently and not follow the steriotype old thinking of previous less modern people of world.

Will congress bring back Black Money to Bharath
by balaji on May 12, 2009 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

NO Congress is not interested as it will expose them
But Nationalist party BJP will get it in 100 days
last year when German govt captured the sensitive data containing 1500 names of thugs having black money accounts in LGT Bank of Liechenstein, it offered Indian govt data free of cost for around 300 Indians who were having black money deposited there.

but, the Congress govt refused the data. They even went to the extent to say to Indian ambassador of Germany that do not ask anything from the Germans. WHY ???.

In May 2008, Advani wrote a letter to Manmohan Singh in this regard but the so called 'honest' PM remained quiet & did nothing.

Few days back they calleD aDvani liar & now they submit to the SC that they know the details.

In the last 62 years in the name of secularism & common man, Congress has looted India to the extent of amount double than its GDP out in the foreign banks.

How can Kapil Sibhal Abhishek singhvi claim that the money cannot be brought back without even giving it a try? Only people with vested interests
I don't know why the Indian vote for such corrupt party !!!!!!!!!!!!.

In fact, the Swiss government has accused the Indian government of submitting fake papers- perhaps for the first time in the history of India a government has done so. This is the true face of the MMS government

Once the Indian government gets hands of the data the accounts holders would already have transferred the funds to other countries.

Let us be happy. Major chunk of this 50000 crores would be Black Money.

Atleast these elections helped to pump in such huge black money into the economy.

Fifty years back
by PillaiyarSwamy on May 12, 2009 12:01 PM

Fifty years back it was necessary for politicians to go to each town for propoganda.
Today with technology offering so much politicians should change their tactics.
Wall posters
Blaring Loud Speakers
Speeches made in roads.
Writing on walls
should be stopped.
Telivision speeches(We can switch off)
Distribution of notices
Emails(We can delete)
SMS
Should be taken up by Politicos seriously.
It is ironical when servants of people travel in Helicopters and A/c cars when 40% people does not get complete meal everyday

by bijesh krishnankutty on May 12, 2009 12:00 PM  | Hide replies

None of the parties showed interest in buying those precious items. Instead they played politics in that.. "we are in touch with Mallya", "Mallya agreed to hand over the items to India Government" blha blha blha... All these parties should be ashamed of them selfs. He used his hard earned money to buy that... not like these guys, spending our money to fly in helicopter and for rallies...

Law makers break the law , who has to punish them?
by Kadam on May 12, 2009 11:58 AM

These are the people's representatives and they openly flout the rules. Nothing happens to them. Because all are in the same boat!.
These are the people who preach and formulate the law for our country.
Having spent so much money, they will definitely make good this sum within no time.
The sources are :
1. Stock market manipulations. Look at the index . Zoomed from 8500 to 12500!. All FII money. Money comes from swiss bank and goes back there. Invest 100 crores and take back 400 crore. Clean profit of 300 crore. Election expenditure is met. People think that Index Has started bull run and start investing in shares. By the time time elections are over, index will doom and FIIs would have made good money, and genuine investors would have lost. Money changed hands from unsusectble investors to FIIs.
After the elections, heavy bargaining for giving support. Thereafter issue based supports. All these costs the main parties heavy money.
Then starts the Givt contracts and taxationb tool to extract money and loot the booty through various contracts.
The looser party will keep their guns on teh ruling party to see that the Govt falls. !
This is great Indian Election Tamasha.
End result... exchequer has lost so many crores and no money for real development works!.
