It is quite alarming and of far reaching consequences the move by the Pak Authorities to impose tax on minorities- as stated by the P.M This is not only against all norms in a country in the 21st Century but BARBARIC. All cilivilsed countries should speak against this move and U.N Secy.General should take this up with Pakisthan Govt.

This is the result of mixing religion with politics. It may happen in India if BJP comes into power.

Thuglak week front page saayss: CBI officers are pasting Congress election posters on the wall!
Manmohan Singh: What are they doing?
Sonia: They have done all their job perfectly (Closing Quattrochi case and etc) and they are free now. So asked them to paste Congress poster for election!

Read the four pages in the middle of Tuglak. You cannot stop laughing if you are rational!
No Media or secular party even mentioned it anywhere The recent Take over of Chidambaram temple by non-hindus and aestheists on Tamilnadu shocks our conscience. In many ways the ‘dravadian (by logical corollary ‘non indian’) heavily campaign against Hinduism and Hindu Symbols bears resemblance to the actions of the Taliban against non-islamic symbols (Bamiyan Buddha statues) in Afghanistan. Under international outcry even the Talibans halted their destruction of the statues, but in India the same set of politicians are now keeping quite. Needless to say every attack on Hinduism and a section of the Hindu society (dubiously called as ‘upper caste’) is packaged as social justice! Sp great is the fear of ‘caste, votebanks, that even parties professing support fo Hindutva are refusing to consider the just and fair rights of the Unreserved Class Hindus. Things have gone so far that none of them are even willing to consider the Unreserved Class Hindus as Citizens

Hindu is a "four"letter word for many secularists and pseudo"intellectuals"even when Pakisthan is contemplarting the take over of all Maddrassas on the realisation that these are the breeding ground for intolerance and fanaticism Indian Government is financing and certifying these religious institutions as "EQUAL" to the normal schools for eligibility for employment and higher studies.Any one can take kudos if he is powerful to spend tax payers money for gaining cheap credit. The attack-terror or civil- on Temples and institutions held dear by the majority of the citizens should be resisted and immediate legal action must be initiated persons who have knowledge of these actions by any one-Government or Individuals. It is FUTILE to expect media to report this- attack on Hindus/Hinduinstitutions as they ARE "SECULAR"
True, Coimbatore are the most hardworking and industrious people in Tamil Nadu, although I am from chennai, i do agree with what Best has to say abt development, can you believe this the Coimbatore corporation does not have money to change its street lights ? you know why ? find out who the Mayor is you will know! Also the PMK has done nothing for that area other than garnering votes, they have helped only vanniyars(about 6%) of population ! nothing wrong in caste based politics especially if thats the only way to highlight the plight of ppl
Congratulations Best Ramaswamy. I know the people around Coimbatore,Salem,Tiruppur,Namkkal,Erode,Karur. Hard working, sincere, speak truth,Interested in development,Improve small credit finance. Make the whole country a large Tiruppur. Sure you can rule TN or India. Go ahead. We trust you.

Indeed a bold step by Ramaswamy. I welcome it and wish you full success in your endeavor. But after winning keep up your promise and serve all instead of only to Gaundar community as is the practice of majority poiticians. Prove that your party is a different one. All residents of Kongu nadu should vote for this party for a change, for a change in living and development. God Bless
I am not from this region, but I have lived there for 7 years in the 90s and I can tell you that people in that area are very industrious and hard working. The only barrier you need to get past is the language barrier. Most of them are honest compared to other cities. Shops do not sell adulterated stuff like they do in Bangalore or Hyderabad. Most establishments are known for their quality there. The farmers are quite conservative, but very warm hearted. They treat guests as if they are royal visitors. I say this with experience in living in all the four south Indian states.

Of all, they respect other human being, including children, except the auto drivers who are as usual arrogant and adament inspite of super star acting like an auto driver in Basa where he sings that, autowallahs are not friends but relations of the passengers.
I welcome such stands.. If national politics can be controlled by state level parties, why not state politics be controlled by region level parties.. after all tamilnadu is not just chennai, karnataka is not just bengaluru, andhra is not just hyderabad. so, if they want to take politics and power in their own hand to make their cities/region propser, then its a welcome decision.
TN is known for its high rate of literacy. But has literacy resulted in proper education of the masses? In my opinion people continue to be uneducated in spite of literacy and degrees. This is the reason why many of the poor are still being poor, if not worse. The few who became wealthy actually were affiliated to political parties, either the DMK or the ADMK. I currently stay in Delhi and I am in a position to actually compare the poor in both places. The fact is that the poor in Delhi would live like a king in rural TN. I have seen the pathetic condition of the really poor in TN villages. They cook only once in 3 days ( just rice and green chillies and sometimes with a little diluted butter milk. Their children are acutely under nourished with many polio cases and physical impairment. Even in this state they donate half of their earnings to one of the political outfits or they are forced to do so. People from Tn are a respected lot outside TN but in their home state they are worse off than prisoners in a Nazi camp! Who is responsible for this? Not just the rogue politicians but the people themselves. Interact with any transport personnel( Bus drivers, conductors etc) and you will most likely be treated with disrespect and with uncalled for rudeness just because they support a political party! I feel sorry for this state of abundant resources(man, mineral, knowledge) living like this.

i also saw one more thing while touring many famous tourist places of TN. These people do not have respect for people speaking any other language other than tamil. Fanatics is what i call them. i beleive tamil is a great language but wonder what makes these people so haughty!!

probably they have been told stories about tamils and tamil language are ridiculed outside Tamilnadu and how the non-tamils only recognize ARR and Anand as Indians but rest of the lot are just black ugly tamils. may be they thought they should give back and i am happy hearing u.

Yes, there is a language barrier you have to overcome to understand the warmth and honesty of these people. Once you get past that, you will find that they will do anything for you. I am not from Tamil Nadu and I initially felt these people were fanatics too. However, after visiting places in North India, I don\'t view them in that perspective any more. I don\'t see why Tamilians (or anybody from South India) should learn Hindi if nobody in North India learns a South Indian language. [I did learn Hindi in school and I can speak it well too, but I do not see a reciprocal gesture on the part of Hindi speaking people in the north. I do like all languages, including Hindi]
