Wipe out congress, DMK
by Bharat Nesan on May 11, 2009 10:26 PM  | Hide replies

People in TN should vote for ADMK and/or Independents. In come cases they can vote for BJP. We need to make sure that DMK, Congress, caste based parties such as PMK, VC and idiot parties such as that of Vijayakanth should be eliminated.

GOODBYE - DMK & ADMK
by Shanmuganandan on May 11, 2009 08:46 PM

With the entry of the Kongunadu Munnetra Peravai (KNMP) into the election fray, the action in some constituencies in Coimbatore belt has taken an interesting turn. The contest in the area is a case in point. All major parties have so far campaigning, but the one who is going to eat into the votes of the major political parties is the KNMP which is espousing the cause of the community.

After the state govt had neglected the Kongu (Coimbatore) region for a long time in development aspects, it has become a battleground of the Gounders..

KNMP’s candidates are in the forefront and observers point out, KNMP will give all other candidates a run for their money.

While the issues of the community are going to dictate the voting pattern, developmental issues, too, are going to sway the electorate.

The Gounders have all along felt they have been short-changed and the KNMP is trying to drive home this point.

The Coimbatore region being an agrarian & Industrial belt, issues such as reasonable prices for agricultural produce, mainly copra & lack of infrastructure development have cropped up often. Now both the major parties DMK & ADMK are campaigning against KNMP. But the winner will be one & only KNMP.

Dravidian Nation
by riv on May 11, 2009 08:08 PM  | Hide replies

Tamil Nadu is a Dravidian Nation, any Dravidian leader who is qualified and "Less" Corrupt should rule Tamil Nadu to safeguard the people's interest or the max is go with sometimes brahministic tilting "JAYA' The North Indian "Hindi" Congress or Bankrupt Junk Party or "Irrelevant" CPI/CPM should never be allowed to hold power in the Hybrid Tamil Nation.

Yeah - even now that you are milking all Indian companies after the upliftment from your basic farming habitats by the "So called" Hindi national governments, you call yourself separate individuals. How do you differ from one Shivsena/ Assam Gana Parishad/ Hizbuls in Kashmir/ Khalistanis is Punjab. Because of people like you the concept of India might fail one day with so many local parties with little or no national agenda.

In Politics, which Politician is Sincere and Non Corrupt? Corruption is the main qualification to get into Politics. Have you seen Jaya's house which was built with Re 1/- as her salary? Politics is like business, people invest money and get back after winning. In India, rich is becoming richer and poor is becoming poorer. No asker or teller. Go India Go.

For 42 years, film stars ruled Tamil Nadu. It's time others took
by Ramesh Kumar on May 11, 2009 05:51 PM

The upcoming KMP clearly shows how our national/state level leaders does not care about regional problems.
It is the result of hard ship faced by the farmers& textile units in the knogu region.
And the problems of this region -1. water scarcity,2.pollution in the river Noyyal ,
3.Agriculture not viable due to low price of products
4.Textile units face problem due to cenvat /removal of cenvat/exchange value .Artificially heigh cotton price by traders.
Apart from the problem the people of this region have gained confidence by the success of
Siruthuli/valam/vetri /Muyarchi - all non govt voluntary organisations. They are succesfule in their aims and proved that we can do a lot without political power.
All this made people to allign together to form a political set up.
It is not surely in the format of P.M.K.
