Yeah, we have a factory at Bahadurpua at Hyderabad. We are forced to shut down our operation at least 3 hrs everyday for power cut. At times we blame Leftists; being a CA I've to travel extensively through the country. Barring a couple of city like Bangalore, Chandigarh or Delhi-NCR, most of the cities are almost same. In Mumbai, i-days rain means 3-4days will be ruind. Chennai is perhaps the dirtest metros. Rather I would saybarring a part of North-NW Kolkata, remaining part of the city is more or lass clean. Well, u can't expect LA or NY here in Kolkata; still it is not as bad as projected.

Be realistic Dada, Factories don't run on cleanliness and State's Economy is built on Production. Morever, Kolkata only is not West Bengal. For a prosperous State, Industrialisation is required in all cities so as to generate income for the State & Employment to the people.

In Pune we faces power cuts (regularly for 1-1 1/2 hrs in main city...think about the others then...though I don't know about others) for long hours too.Last summer some IT companies here were forced to reschedule there working day from week days to week end for few weeks.

I live in 24-pargans(south)...load sheding prone area ...daily for couple of hours.....but still don't have incident where companies had to close down in week days there.

Sometimes we laugh at this.

In Singur, in one side, lot of opposition leaders who has land in Tata site took compensation from Govt. and on the other hand, they are provoking poor farmers not to give land. Now, those farmers who lost land and did not take compensation are the biggest losers, they lost everything.

Another point is that Becharam Manna who is the leader of Save Farmland committee i Singur doesn't have land in the Tata project and he is the leader.
Mamata did not go to Singur in last 5 months, last she went in Dec 2008, because she knows this time she won't get that much votes in Singur. In last Panchayet election TMC was leading 18000 votes over CPM. This time it will be definitely different.

West Bengal
by Biplab on May 11, 2009 04:17 PM  | Hide replies

West Bengal is in top position in production in rice, vegetables, fish in the country and second in potatao. Last financial year it has produced 150 lakh metric ton rice and 120 lakh metric ton vegetables. It is in third position in per hectre agricultural production in the country, after Punjub and Haryana. Its SDP growth rate is second highest in the country, after Karnataka. Kolkata region in third position in country?s total GDP, after Mumbai and Delhi region. Among country?s top 10 fastest growing regions West Bengal has two regions (Kolkata and Durgapur-Asansole) Though it has has several problems like other states but it is not like such kind of state like Maharastra where one side industry and other side farmers are committing suicide daily. It got second highest investment in 2007, after Gujrat. In last 6-7 years Bengal sees huge amount of investments in several sectors like IT, steel, agro products, manufacturing industry like motor car, bike, auto component, shipyard, wagon, railway coach etc, real estate, retail etc. In last year it got 1 lakh cr investment proposal in steel sector only which is third highest in country after Orissa and Jharkhand. One by one projects of Jindal, Videocon, Jai balaji and others are coming up.

Indian communists are trying to protect China's interest by opposing the Indo-US nuclear deal. Communists are traitors of the highest order. Why are they silent when China claims "Arunachal is an integral part of China" or when China sets up nuclear power plants in Pakistan. They are shameless antinationals and should be kicked out not only from Bengal but from the whole country. And remember the left parties still claim that India attacked China in the sixties during the Indo-China war. Great, Long live Communists, Long live China..
The called Netaji : Tojo's dog (Tojo was Jap PM during WWII), it is beyond logic how educated people are still voting for the left...
FYI, communists have opposed computerization (if you do not know, Cal. Univ. was shut down for 3 days by SFI in early seventies), ruined the careers of at least 75 lakh students (English was out for 15 years multiplied by avg. no. of students appearing at the board exam)
Have you ever talked to any Chinese guy? If you can in your lifetime, then ask them about Tienanmen square, most of them don’t even know what happened exactly, this is the true face of communists

It was clearly told by the CPI(M) that the Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India. And why should one cry when the China sets up nuclear power plants in Pakistan...??

OK... Mr. Debasish... whom should the educated people vote...??

Prakash Karat means 0 (Zero) Karat. In other sense prakash means light and light means weightless so this karat is weightless (valueless) karat.

Why are you so hyper?
Did tagore write 'Janagana' for China?
Did Netaji sacrificed for 'China'?

Disrespecting people is not good....share your point,in the country of 100 cror there will be disagreement....that does not mean that people should be disrespected.

What kind of culture is this?

I am posting for so long time, never attacked anyone personally or become abusive.

I hope you're not trying to call Rabindranath a leftist. That will be the ultimate insult to the legend and the great man. Both Gurudev & Netaji were patriotic to the core of their heart. They were pro-India.
