Best of luck

I wish they will do it. I don't see the 3rd and 4th are going to be solid. Each of them want to be PM of the Country but no plan for the future.
At least these two can do something better

good idea...but will it materialize
by raj on May 09, 2009 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

Guyz I like the positve energy in this forum that was generated by this idea....but I think it is too utopian...there are lot of vested interests involved...BJP is a party that evolved to change all the bad things that represented congress...the pseudo secular policies, dynastic rule, muslim appeasement at the cost of national security etc...also the congress hates BJP for the hindutva element..they dont like to accept the positive nationalist ideology of the BJP.

do you think the congress will just forgo the family rule privelege it enjoyed for 60 odd years just for the sake of a five year rule? though the BJP has the nation first, party next ideology, the corrupt congress leaders will never accept this idea...all they care about is dividing this country on caste and reservation basis, and let the first family rule for generations to come...so they can loot billions of people money for their grandsons...

i guarantee none in the congresss will buy this idea...so while it is good to be positive about the idea, dont get carried away since it is too far-fetched...stay grounded and watch the great indian political tamasha as usual...we are barely a week away, and mark my words the congress will indulge in the regular horse trading in its hunger to grab power...and sonia's puppet president will call her to form the government...

if u want to bash me for being practical please go ahead...but understand I'm not cynical..I will be happiest if both Congress and BJP join hands!!

how can the dark riders spoeaks about the lights? because they know for sure that there so called hindutva triump will no longer work, although there are and there will be hundreds of people like Raj, who just want to see all weaks as ever weak, whthere its econonmy, education or social justice, these are the people to which we are not going to bother about as they can never break the spine of secular India.as these handfull of people can never be act as a meaningfull vote..and Definately Congress is the only party who can prevent this to happens.

In democracy the winner is not righteousness or evil but popularity. Thus, one should not be disillusioned to say that Hindutva will not win and Indian way of psuedo-secularism will triumph because those are the right things. They will win because Hindus are divided at the religious-level (however united at the lingual and caste levels), and Muslims and Christians are united. India is not secular; in fact it is a big mockery of secularism. Of course, you have to appreciate Congress which agreed for partition and yet retained Muslim population in India. In history, where else do you see a nation gets divided on the basis of religion but without exchange of population? That is the pecularity of Hinduism. It practices casteism, gender-bias and lingualism; and co-exists with absolutist religions like Christianity and Islam.

Notwithstanding the structural weaknesses of India, with utmost sincerity and respect to all religions, I believe in a plural India because that is the only future we have. For future, to maintain a united and growing country, every stakeholder in India has to let go the views relevant 60 years back but not today. I am a RSS believer, and thus have the courage to self-introspect and self-criticise. RSS needs to change even if the Muslim and Church remain hostile. India needs some elements of Hindutva (Uniform Civil Code, Zero tolerance for appeasement), but not infeasible and non-secular views (Akhand Bharat, Ram temple).

Can Congress and BJP work together?
by damodar bale on May 09, 2009 10:55 PM

Even if they could work together, they should not.
They should preferably work alternatively and have a healthy competition,as to who performed better.Without a sound criticism, rulers cannot perform in a democracy.Perhaps Congress working
has improved only after they formed UPA.

Can you have NDTV run this show once again
by deshbhakth on May 09, 2009 10:50 PM  | Hide replies

Can you please have NDTV run this show once again on popular demand on 10th May 2009 prime time? Principally it looks great in case the verdict is reaaly fractured and irreparable (in case a new election has to be conducted) Why not in India? If USA under Obama adminsitration can have bipartisan involvement in the running of the administration with a fairly good number of Bush cabinet members continuing in Obama admin, then why not in India in case if there is a constitutional crisis. Then it becomes the moral responsibility of the 2 leading political parties or formations to come up with a bipartisan approach and not to keep the PM seat as a bone of contention.
All the BIG IDEAS ARE COMING FROM BJP, they have balls of steel buddy, atleast they have been able to get the intellectuals thinking. Firstly it was Compulsory voting, conducting all elections in a single phase and in Feb, fixed terms for all the elected bodies in Center and States. KUDOS to LKA, Sudheendra Kulkarni, Arun Jaitley, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Arun Shourie, Ram Jethmalani and above all to our truest NATIONAL HERO Atalji. BJP does not fear when they have to spell out some issues like they have raised in the recent past. All these issues are worthy of a National debate and vote.

Good Leadership for India is spread over all parties.
by brij india on May 09, 2009 10:43 PM

What is good for India?? There is only one answer - economic progress for the country, education, food, medical help, clothes shelter for all, controlled population, ecological and environmental balance with nature, security from internal and external threat, unification from divide on basis of religion, caste, etc. Control of crime and corruption. there can be no difference in opinion on this between any political party ad philosophy.
The divide is only due to power play, one up man ship, self interest as against good for the people of the country, hypocrisy,,,,,
And the aspiring political leaders who have the virtues for leading the country are spread in all parties, through defections, splinter parties, support, alignments nd all kinds o mechanisms.
BUT they have taken positions of adversity due to their linkages with one party or another.
IN THE PROCESS THE MINORITY OF LEADERS WHO ARE EDUCATED, WITH CLEAN TRACK RECORD FROM CORRUPTION OR CRIME, ARE SELFLESS, HAVE PROVEN TO BE HIGH PERFORMERS AND HAVE THE ENERGY, PASSION AND DETERMINATION TO WORK SELFLESSLY FOR THE PROGRESS OF THE COUNTRY.
The Indian Corporate have emerged and taken to the path of progress. The Govt machinery for Administrative and Political leadership needs to put its act together.
Come on get together and led the country.

political doctrines upside down
by dinu dinu on May 09, 2009 10:43 PM  | Hide replies

This is asking for moon. all the political doctrines shall be buried forever. But BJP and Congress plzzz come out of your narrow religious, caste based myopic concepts. Keep aside your petty issues for national interest and grace up to the history by making a few sacrifices either side. you need not bow down to DMK or AIDMK who rake up the jingoistic issues of EELAM during elections or the yadavs who tilt their sides to winning side or any other regional party who immorally!!! support the winning party.DEAR MODERATOR our genuine and sincere REQUEST TO RAKE UP THIS ISSUE ON TV CHANNESL and see the outpour by the Indians. it will make these two national parties bow down with ashame and actually give a serious thought about this concept atleast for one tenure. Hey Mother India this is tooo Utopian but bestow these parties this fantastic thought.

Dinu,
Don't you feel BJP leaders atleast need a THUMBS UP and GOOD JOB done from the people to have atleast come out in the open on National TV and accepted the fact that they are ready to join hands with Congress if it comes to that, instead of negotiating with the small fries, who are flexing their muscles once every 5 years and in times of crisis for their own narrow ends. The BJP leaders definitely need a word of appreciation from this board.

What CongI gave us
by Shri Hegde on May 09, 2009 10:42 PM  | Hide replies

CongI gave us Emergency and not Freedom
the party gave freedom was divided and hijacked on dynastic lines by Indira, calling her party Indira Congress.

CongI gave us 1984 Anti-sikh riots, 1989 Bhagapur Muslim riots and 1992 Hindu-Muslim riots

CongI has given us Sanjay Gandhi, HKL Bhagat and J Tytler

CongI also killed it's own young promising leaders like Madhavrao Scindia and Rajesh Pilot

CongI gave us Ram sethu and Amarnath contovercies

CongI gave us 307 but could not give uniform civil code
CongI gave special status to Kashmir and can't give any special do that for India.

CongI went against SC on Shabano and Afzal guru

CongI pulled support to govt central goverments 5 times and gave instability

CongI gave us Dynastic politics
In the name of first family of Indian politics, the Dynastic culture is justified and promoted, even if the family member is a Foreigner. Indira even duped public by marring Feroz Gandhi for his last name. Now neither hardworking party workers nor loyal leaders have any chance of growing in the party, unless their parents are CongI leaders.

CongI gave us puppet Presidents, CBI and now EC cheif
the culture of having puppets in coveted offices, it all started with President VV Giri in 1969. Now, we have Navin Chawla as the EC Chief.

CongI gave us Castism and divisive society
by continuing and refusing to reform the policy of reservations. Now, they want to extend this reservations to Private sector and even to Army.

CongI gave us

Congress is also responsible for dividing Hindooz and Mooslimz...bias politics created a party like BJP to stand for Hindooz.

So its common sense that Congress is Anti India

Re: BJP leaders are mentally ill.

See a good Shrink and see if get you mentally stable. Alternatively when Rahul Gandhi sets up a nuclear palnt for Kalavati, the lunatic asylum in which you are admitted could borrow some power from her and give you a good shock ! That may ( yes only just a may ) cure you.
When a moronic yuvraj goes around inviting his opponents to help him become the PM of this country ....does that prove that the Congress is mentally ill ?
Or when it kicks out Moilly for trying to bail out the same moronic yuvraj is that a sign that the Congress is mentally stable .

PS: Jihadi New York please dont forget to report me for abuse .
