Shockwaves
by gomateswara on May 09, 2009 12:15 AM

The acquittal of Jagdish Tytler, the prime accused in the anti-Sikh riots of 1984, by the CBI should send shock waves across the country.

The CBI’s proclaimed autonomy is a sham. It sought to close the case in 2007 but had to continue the probe. That a Sikh prime minister can silence his conscience and campaign for the party in Delhi is a sad commentary on the moral fibre of our politicians. The Congress party’s dreams of having a committed judiciary is on the verge of realisation.

Any good scheme from BJP is bad for media
by shamsher singh on May 08, 2009 11:11 PM

Yeddyurappa’s budget had encouraging news for several sections of the population — farmers, high school students, officials, researchers, patients, alike.

The decision to send 1000 farmers abroad on a study tour will expose them to different types of farming methods. Further a provision of Rs 750 crores as a support price for farm produce is good news.
Yeddi has given a fillip to ornamental fishery and has given an impetus to the establishment of goshalas for the protection of milch cattle. Extending free power to farmers with upto 10 HP pumpsets, introducing e-tendering to bring in transparency, allotting Rs 2 crore for reviving the river Arkavathy and establishing 500 foot bridges in the Malnad to bring connectivity to remote villages, are all heartening to note.

CM also deserves to be congratulated for providing free health insurance to poor families. Another noteworthy point, is the support given to the development of sandalwood cultivation, green villages and medicinal plants

BJPs Magical Novel schme for needy what did congee do in 60yr
by aandal on May 08, 2009 10:45 PM

Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP govt in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state.

Under the scheme, the state govt buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.

The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.

The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level.
Kanyadhan Yojna: state gives Rs 7,500 for poor families during the time of a girl's marriage, and
Janani Suraksha Yojna: state provides all economic & health support to a pregnant woman till the time of delivery.
This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP. This bias is going to be the undoing of the Congress

Humble plea to Congress/UPA Pls do not divide the nation further
by balaji on May 08, 2009 12:36 PM

Latest in the series of controversies centred on the Congress party’s fixation with Muslim grievances is the data collection exercise involving the Indian Armed Forces.
It is irrelevant and mischievous to mention about caste-based divisions in the Army during the British rule.
Congress leaders not only divided the country politically but also militarily. The military officers and men of pre-independence India , belonging to all communities fought the WWII together under the British.

Pakistan got a ready-made army at its birth. When Indian Muslims got Pakistan they also got a Muslim army carved out of the undivided Indian Army. This army produced Pakistani generals and officers who fought wars with India — the first full scale war being in 1965. This is history in living memory.

The Congress party having divided and ruled the country for decades is continuing with its dangerous game and monstrous thinking of doing a head count for the Army now.

Today a TV channel reported that there were violent incidents in Singur,Nandigram and Uluberia, in which 9people were killed. Obviosly, murderous marxist cadres were wreaking vengeance on TC supporters. This is the kind of fascists they are.
