Ealem is a necessity and it is the duty of every indian to support their tamil brethren for it. If we cud create bangladesh, support the tibetan movement, support the cause of Palestinians then why such a discrimination against the lankan tamils?don't they deserve our sympathy and support?if we don't support, where else they can look into to escape the miseries?. the sinhalese have brutally suppressed the tamils after gaining independence. they were treated as class two citizens in their own homeland.Sinhala was made the national language and tamilians were forced to learn it to keep their govt jobs. A tamilian need to score more marks than a sinhalese to get admission in universities. There initial peaceful protests were crushed brutally.they were forced to take up arms to earn the right for a dignified life. creation of ealem out of the northern and eastern provinces in lanka is the only solution for obtaining eternal peace and stability in the region lest the rise of another prabhakaran is only a matter of time. hence my dear friends, before stamping tamilians as traitors or seperatists read the history. so far tamilnadu is free from terrorism for seperation unlike in punjab, kashmir and north east. it indian govt does not takes necessary action to protect the interests of tamils in the region i fear it can even lead to unrest throughout south india

Why cant they have a Vote Bank kind of politics in Sri Lanka, it will ensure the Tamils reservation in all jobs and a first proirity to nations resourse...it will lead to the end of their misiries...for that, India just need to send some Cong, DMK, Lalu, Paswan, Mulayam and Left politicians for that...U dont need an army, just a handful of politicians can do that job! isnt it???

Please do not confuse 'cause of Tamil' with 'LTTE'. India were supporting the cause till it was peaceful. LTTE eliminated(killed) all their own tamil leaders who were taking up the cause in peaceful manner. LTTE were fighting just for 'supremacy', not tamil cause. They have been using innocent tamils as humal shield to protect themselves from Srilankan army. I have full sympathy wit tamils but certainly NOT with LTTE. They should be eliminated immediately.

Prasanth Nair, it is purely internal matter of Sri Lanka. Let them solve it. Sometimes govts are forced to take stern actions to curb and overcome specially separation moment which makes a country weak in all aspects. If govts start accepting separation demands then nothing will be left except several useless and baseless small countries.

I appreciate your feelings and genuine concern for the plight of the Tamils in Lanka.
I do not condone the Lankan discrimination/ill treatment of the Tamils there. And hope the condition of the Tamils ther improves soon.

India had to attack East Pak because 10 million refugees had come from there and more importantly, Pak had launched an attack on India all along the Western borders.
Indian support to Tibet is confined to giving shelter to Dalai Lama, nothing more, and this support perhaps contributed to Chinese decision to attack India in 1962.
Support to Palestine is again more of a lip service.

India can and MUST impress upon Lanka the need for drastic improvement in its treatment of the Lankan Tamils, but military action may not be prudent against Lanka.

This is an impartial viewpoint!

Thanks to Prabakaran to unite TN parties for a common goal

Every party in Tamilnadu is demanding for TAMIL ELLAM. Thats a good sign. It shows victory to PRabakaran in Tamilnadu and he has shown that he is the legend of Tamil Leaders across the globe.

We tamilians bow to him.

We tamilians sallute Jeyalalitha for her revolution in TN for Tamil Ellam because of which Karunanidhi's DMK is also comming with the same tone.

Thanks to Prabakaran to unite all my Tamil Political parties for a common single goal.

Mr Nair, In Sri Lanka, both Tamil & Sinhala are national Languages. The problem is Tamils dont like to learn sinhala and sinhalas dont like to learn Tamil. Secondly, a tamil student has to get more marks to gain admission to university is also wrong. Like the reservation system in Tamil Nadu, Sri lanka has a quota system based on the regions. The regions are classified as developed and undeveloped regions. Colombo, kandy, Jaffna, matara, galle are developed. The students (whether tamil or sinhala has to get more marks than those from undeveloped regions. In this system both tamils and sinhalas are affected. I was in Sri Lanka for quite some time and thats why I know this. Thanks!

our so called statesmen and woman of tamilnadu should not have issued such eelam statements.first forget the differences and work together to help in rehabilitation.slogans will not help suffering people.indian govt should have actively participated in forming tamil states within the constitution of srilanka in the same lines of india where constitutionally all are equal.indian govt always does the damage repair instead of forseeing the problems.what these tamil leaders are doing for the tamils in malaysia.they are treated as 2nd class cityzens no freedom of speech no freedom of religion how many are put in jails we dont know.being a big miltary power in this region india can pressurise these countries to do justice for indian race without effecting their soveregnity.stop politacalising the humanitarian issue to vote banks.instead of giving free colour tvs spend this money on srilakan tamils jaihind

(1)SL tamils have no voting power in TN. If so, they would definitely have been given colour tvs.
(2) JJ has firmily said that once her alliance comes to power at the centre, she will send Indian Army to Sri Lanka to create Tamil eelam.(and also retake kachativu) I have not read any comments on these promises from the other constituent parties of the third front.Does anybody have an idea?

Just ignore these promisses of these tamil leaders. They don't have any recognition in their own state and country, India. They have not done anything for their own voters and supporters. Who will respect them in SL or UN??

Do not vote for BJP or Congress, they are one and the same coin. Only vote for regional parties.
