Don't interfere in affairs of other countries.

If you start interfering, there is no end to it.

Shri Lankan Tamil should learn to be Shri Lankan first and we have no business to interfee in the neighbour. It might create unwanted jungle fire.

Stooping So Low
by Anant Gaitonde on May 07, 2009 11:57 AM

Wonder how low our politicians shall stoop to fool our illiterate population. Wonder what say does our regional politicians will have to decide on International soil and wonder how they can command the army to intervene on foreign soil. Can we accept a similar stance by US or Pakistan in kashmir?

Do u know the history of Sri Lanka?. Sinhalese are not the original inhabitants of SL. The oldest Chola empire ruled SL ruled SL during 300-100 BC. There were Tamil kingdoms like the later Chola dynasty under Rajendra Chola ruling SL even before the descent of Sinhalese. A lot of Tamil literature have its birth in SL. Tamils were one of the earliest settlers of SL much before the sinhalese. The oldest ethnic group of SL 'Damela' refers to Tamils. Those who migrated during early medieval period called themselves 'Sinhalese' durig which Buddhism rose as official religion. Before that, SL followed HInduism under Chola dynasties.

I thought we supported Sri Lankan army with advanced weaponry. Well, you must know your friends. And what is this "Indians are dirty because of lack of water", don't talk immaturely. Do you know GDP wise we are the forth biggest nation and 2nd highest in terms of no of billionaires after US. We had sent IPKF in 1988, you remember this. Know your friends. And don't pay much attention to Karunanidhis and jaylalitas, they are a small part of a huge political system.

My dear Patriot,
I don't know which country you are patriot of but no true patriot would like China or any other country to come and invest without any selfish motive. Your message is only to spite Indians.
I visited Sri lanka in early nineties and saw people dressed only below their waist. That was the level of poverty.Even today Sri lanka needs to import milk to feed its people. Even Sinhalese are people of Indian decent. Just by adopting Buddhism faith you do not become Sri Lankans. For Indians Sri Lanka is Ravan's (demon's) kingdom.Understand

M Karunanidhi's promise to create a homeland for Sri Lankan Tamil is immature and dangerous. This will encourage the North Eastern and the Kashmiri separatists also. This is the danger that regional politics create.

Did they announce the date of Karunanidhi's funeral?

Prabhakaran is his friend, so will he attend his funeral?

Since he is an atheist, will any funeral rites be performed at all? Do atheists have any traditions?

Dear Collegues,
Before you start putting your comments please know that Sri Lankan Tamilians are not migrated from India. Eelam is their Homeland. There is Tamils migrated from India and working as Tea Estate workers. These migrated Tamils are not fighting and have no problem.

You can't be sovereign nation on the one hand and suppress human rights on the other hand.
some one beats up a kid in your neighbour house and when you see it you should go and stop it or should inform authorities who would take appropriate action. seeing and keeping quiet it not at all an option.

Stay out of Sri Lanka
by Shriya Saran on May 07, 2009 11:51 AM  | Hide replies

Some people think that Tamilians of India went and settled in Sri Lanka. Even I used to think like that. That is wrong.

From time memorial, for several hundreds of years, much before the Europeans plundered and looted Sri Lanka, the island of Sri Lanka had three kingdoms - one Tamil kingdom and two Sinhala kingdoms.

So, Sri Lankan Tamils are well within their right to demand a separate country for themselves, especially because the Sri Lankan government officially discriminates against them.

However, why should India or Indian Tamils interfere with Sri Lanka.

Indians, including Indian Tamils, should keep out of Sri Lanka.

Tamils always had a separate kingdom in Sri Lanka since several thousands of years.

That is the difference.

In Malaysia Tamils are migrants. You can't demand for seperate country and nobody will accept. Even Tamilians won't support that

There are lots of pakistanis in Kashmir. Should we give kashmir to pakistan or kashmir as a separate country??

There are many Indians in Texas...should we make Texas as a separate Country ruled by Indians??

Friends, whenever we go and settle in another country...we have to obey the country's rules and regulations...."You have to be a Roman in Rome"
If u don't find living comfortable there, come back to your own country. You can't break or separate each and every community into a separate country.

An example is that....the ruler in Delhi before british is an Afghanistani, should we donate Delhi to Afghanistan or should we make it separate country??

Also our would-be Prime Ministers....LK Advani and Manmohan Singh are Pakistanis.
They are born and brought up in pakistan. At partition time they had come to India.

So shall we drive them back to pakistan?
