GOODBYE DMK & ADMK
by Shanmuganandan on May 11, 2009 09:06 PM

With the entry of the Kongunadu Munnetra Peravai (KNMP) into the election fray, the action in some constituencies in Coimbatore belt has taken an interesting turn. The contest in the area is a case in point. All major parties have so far campaigning, but the one who is going to eat into the votes of the major political parties is the KNMP which is espousing the cause of the community.

After the state govt had neglected the Kongu (Coimbatore) region for a long time in development aspects, it has become a battleground of the Gounders..

KNMP’s candidates are in the forefront and observers point out, KNMP will give all other candidates a run for their money.

While the issues of the community are going to dictate the voting pattern, developmental issues, too, are going to sway the electorate.

The Gounders have all along felt they have been short-changed and the KNMP is trying to drive home this point.

The Coimbatore region being an agrarian & Industrial belt, issues such as reasonable prices for agricultural produce, mainly copra & lack of infrastructure development have cropped up often. Now both the major parties DMK & ADMK are campaigning against KNMP. But the winner will be one & only KNMP.
SO CAST YOUR VOTE FOR KNMP in COIMBATORE REGION

Common man is ignored after elections.
by Jhumri Talaiyya on May 11, 2009 05:02 PM

common man is ignored after elections... why do we waste money and time on elections when not a single politician is capable of leading our country? Why don't people slap these useless candidates when they come begging for a vote? Really we need a president rule... NOT Pratibha Patil please... I wonder how she was nominated as a President for our country! The Gandhi's are just for name sake and as incapable as Laloo. Thakerays are busy fighting from home and sending useless Shiv Sainiks to destroy places n people against them.

Disgrunlted Voters
by Rajesh Vyas on May 11, 2009 02:28 PM

I do not know about the rest of the country but the voters of Mumbai and particularly of South Mumbai have sent a very telling and befitting message to the politicians of all parties. Let us not blame the low turnout on lethargy or the high temperatures. The Mumbai voter remained indoors to show his/her frustration towards the politicians and their non-performance. This abstention was a negative vote to the politicians in general. The politicians are lucky that the provisions of 49(0) are not in place or all the contestants would have been rejected. If some day, voting is made compulsory, it msut be ensured that the right to vote for NONE OF THE ABOVE is available to the CITIZENS of INDIA.

dmk benefitted
by R Balasubramanian on May 11, 2009 01:13 PM

with the advent of global companies who have been allotted land, few thousand crores have been benefitted by MK family members who were central ministers. Sukhram the former Communication Minister was convicted by CBI. What about Dayanidhi Maran and the present incumbant Raja? During their tenure, they have earned hundreds of crores by favouring mobile operators at the cost of BSNL. Any action on these two scoundrels? Shameless Maran who was stripped off his ministry at the behest of MK has onceagain fallen at the feet of MK fearing any probe to be initiated by UPA at the command of MK who is the savior of UPA.
The villages collectively shold reject both DMK and AIADMK and vote for Vijayakanth for a change.

While come to politics no money with candidates earlier. now trillioneer. for instance Politicians -P Chidambaram & gang, Karunanidhi & gang, Ramdass & gang, Jagatrakshakan & gang etc., .
Poriki's Jepier, Udayar etc., with less capital & no education people money can steal to few pockets. So one day they have to pay price.

I'll be the first one to slap our politicians. Am disgusted and fed up with these jokers.

I think we need to get presidential form of govt where we elect a leader and everything revolves around him after that. Parliamentary form of govt is a big failure as there is NO clear mandate and everything revolves around pleasing others. Now I wonder who will be our next PM as apart from NDA... I cannot even guess - Mayawati? DeveGowda? Mulayam? Lallo? Oh please..........

not necessary. The current system is too good for democracy. The only thing is the MPs to be made accountable to the people and the people should have the right to call back the MP who is found to be non-performing. Once the party extends support to a government, it should not, at any cost wihdraw the support for the full term and even if the party wants to withdraws its support, it shoud be debated with the voters before deciding. The government should then be dismissed instead of asking the government to prove its majority when the corruption for taking support of other parties creeps in.
Constitution has been amended several times by many governments to suit their convenience but not to the benefit of the people of the country. Why cant there be an amendment to implement this clause which will be beneficial to the people as well as to the country.

Can this happen? An Enigma.

Yes, they are creating hatred amongst the masses, abusing opponents for their own gains, they need strict discipline to demonstrate, where we can see indiscipline in public life everywhere.

Dear Swetambar:

Do not forget we get the leaders we DESERVE!!!! We do not deserve anything better than these folks. Send them a message by not voting or make 49(0) an option avavilable to people. VOTING FOR NONE OF THE ABOVE will be the right message or you will continue to get the Laloos, Nirupams, Paswans, Kalyan Singhs, Amar Singhs, Mulayam Singhs and so on.
