Give BJP a chance once again
by Kattar Bhashi on May 06, 2009 06:03 PM  | Hide replies

After having seen the mummy-n-dummy routine of the UPA for five years where fossilised politicians screwed up the nation, I think the NDA should be given a second chance.

More than anytime earlier, the issue of fundamentalism and communalism is very much a live one today. It will be interesting to see how the BJP- centric NDA would be able to do justice to their agenda and also the welfare of the nation!

It will be worth an observation if the NDA gets a simple majority and then we will see how they grapple with the mess left behind by the UPA!

Mahmood Alam i thing you are right. Majority of Muslims give priority to the country over religion like any other person from any other religion. Unfortunately their voice is not heard. The voice of handful of terrorist is heard more.

Muzlims are better off in BJP ruled states

It is my observation that Muzlims are more prosperous, more secure and more liberal in BJP ruled states compared to Cong ruled states.

One MP who truly knows what secularism is all about, even if he wears the BJP sleeve.

Hope his tribe increases in the BJP. The day it does I guess the Congress would be finished, unless it can re-engineer itself. The way Rahul Gandhi is going about it, there may still be hope for the Grand Old Party. Let's see whether this show progresses...

Koshy,

If Congress hopes of re-inventing itself, it should seriously come out this "Dynasty Worship".
If youth is a criteria that Cong is harping on Jyotiraditya Scindia is a better bet.
Seen Scindia speaking to the media. This guy was very precise and clear on the subject, humble as well graceful.

There are second rung fellows in Cong. The party should project them properly and do away with 'fake' gandhis. The party will surely come back.

yes a chapter of lost time and waste of resources...look at how badly the finances have been mismanaged by the government....we are looking at a fiscal deficit of over 9% thanks to the policies of the current government..unfortunately the congress however hard it tries cannot overcome the image of being impotent and anti national...italian memsaab will continue to hold old and weak manmohan at ransom and policies are decided by a lady whose claim to fame is the family she got married to and citizenship she accepted 15 years after coming to india....JAgo Mohan pyaare...

ye thats true...nehru took kashmir issue to the UN and gave India the problem we have inherited....mahalanobis and nehru's forward thinking policies put India in the most horrible bind of time which finally led to us becoming a laggard internationaly..china started behind India but due to the policies of sucessive congres governments we just waited and watched under license raj...congress is responsible for every major scam in this country...what progress can anyone in the nehru family promise...their record says it all...

Communal vs secular Muslims
by R on May 06, 2009 05:47 PM

Those Muslim who vote for BJP are secular minded. This will enable national integration. Those Muslim who vote for communal parties such as Cong, SP, BSP, left are communal minded.

I am sure we have more secular minded Muslims than communal minded muslims

by ganesh chandra on May 06, 2009 05:36 PM

today i have seen one programme on well known english channel about the barmer constituency. what Manvendra singh achieved can not even achieved by the YUVRAJ of congress. all ulema and madarsa of that area supported and campaigning for mr. singh. its a rare scene i have even seen in my lifetime. such a praise for a BJP candidate. in this election the secularisrm card has backfired and gone against the Ruling coalition.

i am a voter in Hajipur constituency of bihar and one prediction i can meake today that Mr. Ram vilas Paswan is loosing from this constituency. i can say this because a large number of muslims has cast in favour of the JDU candidate Ram Sundar das.

Adnan's wife files for divorce
6 May 2009, 0322 hrs IST, Swati Deshpande, TNN
MUMBAI: Pakistani crooner Adnan Sami's wife Sabah Galadhari is pulling out all stops in her fight for a divorce in Mumbai. The newspaper heiress
"from an extremely wealthy family of Dubai" has sought to get out of the marriage, saying she "can't tolerate Adnan's behaviour anymore".
Not just Adnan, she has also blamed his father Arshad Sami Khan for her situation. In her divorce plea, Sabah has revealed that Arshad Sami was a former Pakistan Army commander and had been in service during the 1965 war against India. Quoting from '3 Presidents and an Aide - Life, Power and Politics', a book authored by Arshad Sami, Sabah said he was "responsible for killing a lot of Indian soldiers and had even been honoured by the Pakistan government with the Sitara-i-jur'ar title for the killings
