Ladli Laxmi Yojana scheme was started by the BJP govt in MP in 2006. In a very short time, it has proved to be one of the most successful social welfare schemes in the history of the state. Under the scheme, the state govt buys saving certificates of Rs 6,000 each year for five consecutive years for every girl born in a family.
The girl gets Rs 2,000 after she completes her Class 5, another Rs 4,000 after she completes Class 8, Rs 7,500 after she completes the Class 10, Rs 200 per month in her 11th standard and a lumpsum amount of Rs 1,18,000 after she enters the 12th standard or, alternatively, attains the age of 18.
The principal aim of the scheme is to eliminate school dropout among girl students and to encourage them to study at least upto pre-college level. The Kanyadhan Yojna: state gives Rs 7,500 for poor families @ time of a girl's marriage, The Janani Suraksha Yojna: economic & health support to a pregnant woman till the time of delivery This is what I (as an Indian) call development of girl child; unfortunately no media will project this, but will project BJP as T@liban if some Sene beats a girl who goes to a pub only coz it happened in a state ruled by BJP.

Thank you for this information - am really indebted to you for sharing this information. I think every Charitable Trust in the country should be asked to do something like this - its novel and unique and workable : its just a question of how many are willing to do it. The government can enforce this but I have copied your message and intend to add it to my family Trust and commence operation at the earliest. Thank you and you must make more noise about this scheme : I am definitely going to and see how many people can actually contribute to this.
What is wrong with you people.. Mayawati has autocratic style of working, but its time, for the sake of galvanisation of h)ndu religion that the most suppressed of H)ndus take charge of India. When we can give people of other religions the power to run this country, why then we cant let the most downtrodden to feel pride for once, let them feel that generations of discrimination is thing of past, and H)ndu religion is not bad
in my opinion, it might help stop the waves of conversions of h)ndus by m1ss1onaries

Beautifully said - from a young age I have always seen politicians dividing the Hindus - first it was Pakistan then it was the Sikhs, then came VP Singh, then x, then y, then z and now we have lost count. Is the government prepared to reserve seats for the upper classes as they are bound to be outnumbered in reservations in the next 10 years or so.

I m from so-called upper caste of h)ndu religion, and we all know that still after years of reservation politics, assault on the religion by invaders and m1ss1onaries, the Upper caste Priests are not waking up, no major reforms is happening.. Are these Acharaya, Shankracharyas declaring that we must drop surnames which indicate our caste, promote inter-caste marriages, etc, etc.
And maybe the ascendency of D@lits to the highest post of Legistature in india can prove to be a galvanising force for H)ndu religion..
At the same time i sincerely also wish that after becoming P.M. mayawati comes to her senses and stop her obsession with spending public money on building the Statues and Parks in name of D@lit pride

About You comments :i want to know you level of thinking ! i think u are a truly thinker who sank down the ocean of ur brain and knowledge thereby and made such a remarkable comment. i totally agree with you as other three have been oportunist as far as their recoed is concern and also will not get commulatively more than mayavati. she is recognised as the founder of Social Engineering which will strenghthening more n more in future.

Her credentials as Engineer/Social Engineer i dont know.. But i am sure am disturbed by the historical fact that when invaders came with their swords to massacre indians and convert them, only a fraction of hindus (kings and kshatriyas) were fighting against the aggressors.. The majority (almost 50%) were forbidden to fight for their nation and were implicitly told that they are worthless, fit to work as servants and good to clean toilets and hence a large population didnt resist invaders
The power hungary trio besides marginal player Congress in UP will eat into each others vote bank to damage maya & benefit NDA even if they improve voting share marginally.The results may surprise many pundits who till now were giving few seats to NDA.

If she has to achieve her goal, she has to come out of her obsessions.These gimmicks of shaking hands of all sections of society is atemporary achievement.In the long run she can not fool all the people always.

There is circumstantial reasons to endorse the view expressed by you in your posting. But one is helpless. BJP infighting (covert) and vying with each other scenario has stong reasons for the party's lackadaisical approach to electorate. No where they have shown the Unity among themselves. Their friends are now their foes. Given the fact, where to look upon and what to do, except being a very silent spectator sitting with the finger crossed; will Mayawati emerge or will it be Deve Gowda; Lalu Yadav or Amar Singh or the Sonia's trusted MMS??? Percentage of turn-out to vote was also dismal, which speaks volumes of peoples disenchantment with the voting: as whom to vote??? In fact, the posts of PM and CMs is like "Fill in the Blank" and the living testimony in this score is Deve Gowda and Rabri Devi. So let us sit with our finger crossed.
a person who can only think of herself as a dalit daughter cannot work for our country's diverse population...if sumhow she manages to..in these or in next elections..i'll take first flight out of india never to return again...nd m sure many will feel this way...

My humble suggestion is .... first stop breathing immediately instead of leaving this country if you are really feeling so to leave India.If you dont want to see her/ any SC/ST candidate as PM, then stop breathing in India where the Dalits are also breathing. The air in India is polluted because of Dalits Breath so you should stop breathing in India instead of breathing in this polluted air and then leave India for the original Indians.

hello first you stop breath in India to protest against any Dalit becoming Prime Minster, instead of leaving India. If you are feeling shy to see any Dalit as PM then stop breath because Indian air is polluted with Dalits breath.I request you to stop your breath immediately or demand your upper caste and backward people to give separate country for all Dalits in India so that you need not to leave India.You people came from abroad and looted wealth of India and you wanted to leave India in the name of caste feeling.Please stop your breath to prevent any Dalit becoming PM of India.

Mr. chetan People of uttar pradesh given verdict in last assembly election but she is unable to do major project in U.P.,I respect she is Dalit and to become P.M. but what she has done in U.P. last couple of years if she will do development like Gujarat.she is showing down mullayum,kallu,paswan.people of u.p. given mandate for the development of U.P. roti,kapda aur makaan.
