Hello Ms. Sheela..

Now that Rahul Gandhi has firmly shown how he has entrenched himself into the system my toiling endlessly at the grassroots level in the heartland.. will political pundits like u pls spare him n let him do his work..? and btw.. rhetoric without strong underlying is the forte of high-pitched decibels like Advani & Modi.. & not ppl like manmohan singh & rahul gandhi. get ur facts right.. or specify tht they're mere opinions!

Rahul's Congress
by mandook on May 10, 2009 02:17 PM  | Hide replies

All said and done, it is Rahul's Congress Party now. No doubt about that. The other "veterans" in the party are dumb spectators. Some time back Margaret Alva was shown the door; yesterday, Veerappa Moily has been unceremoniously removed as spokesperson, merely because he criticised Bihar CM whom Rahul had "praised" the other day. Congress Party has many "General Secretaries" and Rahul is but one of the many (by dozens one is cheaper) but Rahul has been a "special" General Secretary, as everyone knows. But our Fourth Estate, the media, which is very vociferous about its rights always, has been unduly promoting Rahul and his sister who is not even an office bearer of the Party. Why this slavish mentality of the media? Is there any fairness in reporting? Let Rahul certainly come up in politics, but let him come in the normal route. Who says no? And an upstart he is, he talks as if he is a veteran.

that's why everyone should cast the vote. In a monarchy like India, our Rajya Sabha member PM will praise and bring up ONE gen secy and stand beside him with folded hands,or even put up with fluxboard pictures where his is aminute pic compared to the giant cutouts of Mom,Son 9and the holy ganddi)

Many details in this article regarding Nehru-Gandhi dynasty are wrong.
Diversify your sources of information by doing a google search. I can not post them as they will be eliminated by the moderator.

Rahul, Congress and Rediff
by anand mehta on May 10, 2009 09:43 AM

Rediff has been giving us articles that cover the entire spectrum of Indian politics. Unfortunately majority of those who visit the site are hardcore BJP supporters, Modi praisers and Sonia abusers. I therefore suggest that no article against BJP, Modi and Hindutva should be allowed by your news and article moderator. This way you will have numerous messages supporting yr great service to the nation.

criticism, tolerance and beliefs

Sheela should ask Rahul Gandhi to trek down to the hilltop shrine of Shabarimala, he has to go via the Vavarpalli. Rahul's mouthing of "secular" noises against the BJP and its allies is just not fair; the credentials of the Hindus, both secular and otherwise would be evident on his two day trek. Can Rahul fight out the elections on the hefty cost of food and fuel instead of the bogus issue of Hindu-Muslim hatred? Can Rahul address development issues and the mess of the Indian economy created by the spineless governance by the UPA? If crimes have been committed you have recourse to the judicial system. Does the common man have a recourse if he/she is constantly facing price-rise on all fronts due to the UPA/Left mismanagement? Shall we go on a march along with our CPM leaders to protest against US imperialism instead of a 'rastha roko' on price-rise? Some partners and some strange bed-fellows!
