The professor is non political here.i agree with what he says."people are basically bad" absolutly correct. His elaboration on that is rational and every honest individual inwardly knows that. All talk of idealism is facade to hide our ugly side.

If you go by the Kerala experiment and the West Bengal experiment, then they should NOT BE EVEN TOLD the time of the day. West Bengal, which was thriving with industrial activity in the 1950s and 1960s, has been reduced to TOTAL INACTIVITY by these commies. They deserve to be KICKED OUT OF INDIA ... for the welfare of India and the Indians.
castisams is the biggest threat and caste based reservationanisan, and religion based reservation is the biggest threat to soceity, communal parties are not at all threat to soceity. after babri masjid to defeat BJP mainly to HINDU base, cong and other parties have triggered up castisams in UP,to start yadav party, muslim party, dalit party, so that votes will split. This is to defeat BJP at that time, now these caste parties have become larger, and castisams is such no political party can control, if it controls votes they cannot get from particular caste. now castisams have so much grown, it is going for reservation level.this is ridiculous in soceity. i saw one caste outfit Goundar caste party, it demands MBC STATUS(MOST BACKWARD) already it is OBC,the most richest caste demands most backward status. Man's hunger is no limit, if you give more and more , man will want more and more.these caste parties are trigerring his caste people. This is the most dangerous.supreme court should interfear. secondly, if one generation enjoys SC benefict, and come up, the next generation should not opt for bebeficts, since already they are par with other people. In SC all the rich family are enjoying this benefict. It should be curbed by supreme court.

It is a Bong's interview in a Bong's English daily. While the ABP group is highly respected, even such publications tend to publish such insipid interviews. How can one Jyoti Basu rule WB for nearly 25 years on the plank of a 'step son'? He says he is getting angrier becoz he is seeing some parts getting developed and not others equally. Unless the progress starts somewhere, how can others draw on the benefits? He asks why people cannot go to government hospitals? Becoz of the corruption and the poor maintenance of the equipment. Does he know that government buys equipment which cannot be put to use becoz other necessary elements are not in place? Has he seen government hospitals' operating theatres NOT functioning, becoz there is no AC and hence the equipment cannot function effectively? He says only 2 percent owns cars. But for these 2 percent itself, there are not adequate roads ... leading to traffic jams. AND LASTLY HIS TOPIC ... obviously something seriously wrong in his research. If his statement is so true, why do political parties do the caste arithmetic so assiduously? And why do they talk of religious vote banks? Just another rubbish study possibly based on wrong assumptions, wrong samples, wrong questionnaire, wrong methodology and wrong conclusions.

One correction in the second last line. It should have read "And why do they RELY on religious vote banks?" All the political parties other than BJP talk of SECULARISM while BJP banks on Hindutva. If they do NOT expect voters to vote on the basis of caste or creed or religion, what do the ILL-INFORMED RURAL voters vote on? What is BSP? Just a cate-based party? And what is their USP? :To UNDO THE CENTURIES OF OPPRESSION! And she talks of becoming a prime minister becoz of her vote bank size! And how many more examples does he requre! Indian Union Muslim League has CHANGED ITS NAME to Indian Union League, becoz it wanted to appear secular, NOT BECOME secular. God, these professors do some dip stick studies and come to lay down theories for a whole nation.
Most humbly can I ask Mr. Gupta do you follow professionalism in your research. Are the research fellow you employed is being paid or the poor chap is with you only for his degree???
These kind of people should stop being interviewed. They cater to the uppermost class of people, who are barely Indian at all. They are plain oblivious about how the rest of India is. This kind of talk appeals to them only.
The rest of us normal Indians know better than this gentleman about India and state of affairs.

If white light passes through a prism, 7 colors emerge out of it. It is very much like that. Each quality of god manifests through different devis and devatahas. Just like in Islam where you invoke 99 different names of God, we chant 1008 sahasaranama or 108 ashtotram in India. Along with the name we gave form. With the same wheat you make chapathi, Karachi halwa, poori, samosa and naan. Why different things? Why not make the same thing. Similarly with rice we make vermicelli, idly, dosa, lemon rice, curd rice, etc., we love variety. Isnt it? God too loves variety. That's why different kinds of people exist in this world. It goes with the vegetables and fruits. Creation is of multiple varieties. So why not the creator? But don't stop at the form. Go beyond into the meditative state.
