Rahul baba...

I cld not understand what qualities he has apart from the family who had been (mis)ruling our country for decades. I totally agree with him that congress is for poor ; because it is in the interest of congress that people shd remain poor after 60 years ; so they will vote for them for sake of one day of food, liqour and 100 rs currency vote; unformunately all midddle class ( high/ low/ very high) are so dillutioned with elections ; they dont vote and only voting is done by poor muslims ( one day kings) and over & above EC has helping them arranging electiions on the dates and weekday to concide with big week ends and middle class just wnat to run away so forget price rise , corruption etc. i believe voting shd be compuslary and more avenves for voting ( say net ; kiosks) shd be there and voting rights shd be with only to gradutes or married or 25 years of age. yoor vieww

That is the best case scenario for India in near term (5 years). In long term, Congress should also be finished, BJP should split into two parties which should dominate national politics. Then only India will be truely a secular, developed nation approaching to superpower status.

It amazes me, is this the big broker who will ensure that himself and dynasty will keep on filling their swiss and other accounts.

WHAT IS THIS PERSON' QUALIFICATON other than acting like Dhalla for the political crime-murder-money mafia.

it is shame on him to stand by young Pilot and Scindia when their fathers were killed by the same mafia that projects him.

Where is congress, how they get the nos. to form govt. ?
by vijaya kumar on May 05, 2009 05:19 PM  | Hide replies

No Congress in UP, only Amethi and Raibareilly
No Congress in Bihar
No Congress in Tamil Nadu
Karnataka, Gujarat,Chattisgarh, Jarkhand, Madya Pradhesh, uttranchal, Himachal, Assam, NDA will sweep. Congress will get upto 10 to 15 LS seats in these states. States like Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana. It will be 50-50 seats for NDA & Congress or 40 -60 seats in these states. Left out Andhra, Orissa,Maharastra states congress may get 1/4th of the total seats. In West Bengal it is TMC, congress will get few seats. In Kerala they may get 10 seats. In totality from where congress get seats for forming the govt. ?

You are correct. According to my assesment, the individual tally of Congress this time will be only 80seats. This will be a huge defeat for that party where it will lose moral ethic to rule the country.

They expect to allow Bangladeshi's and Pakistani's to cross the borders and vote for them en masse in the last 2 phases.
They can do it, the CEC is their man now.

In the last 5 years, if the Comminists had not intefered, the PF funds would have gone to Stock market. The Petroleum price would have zoomed and economy would have ruined. The Bank rreforms would have made the Banking system weak like USA.
The CPM opposed N-deal on priniciple basis and it with drew support. The Congress mnaipulated the No Confidence motion through corruption. It was more interested in Bush directive than the communists which supported the Govt for 4 years. The called CPM all the names during the last one year.
The Congress is opportunist and shame less party. It is looking new allies like Nitish,Jaya,Maywati becoz it does believe Lalu,Mulayam and karuna will help them.I dont think a principled person like Mr Prakash Karat should support this party at any cost(even in the name of stoping BJP)

The role of the Communists in saving India's finances because of their policies has not been given the due that it requires. The famed trio of Motek, PC and MMS were all for allowing the PF fund to be released to the market. I wonder if we would have been able to withstand the shock, if that had actually happened.

Congress is no less shameless than any other party by any other name. I think the need for political survival ensures that you leave shame at the gates.

And Prakash Karat is hardly the principled person that you make him out to be! He had no qualms in talking threadbare about Godhra, but clamped shut when a similar demand for Singur was opened.

Everybody is shamelss. I hope the government that comes in will keep the growth of the country in sight and work. Neither pseudo-nationalism nor pseudo secularism can take the country forward.

The voters anyway will decide.

Terrible
by Aby Koshy on May 05, 2009 05:18 PM  | Hide replies

Yesterday, there was a discussion on NDTV on black money, anchored by Barka Dutt. BJP was represented by Mahesh Jethmalani while Congress had Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

I thought we would get a proper debate. Unfortunately, as soon as Mahesh was asked to speak, he started off quite well, elucidating the problem of black money, and how the Congress had not lifted a finger to bring it back. Quite a speech, I thought, until Abhishek very successfully countered the argument by bringing to notice the fact that the government had done enough and would do more when it next came to power after May 16th.

It was here that Mahesh lost his cool. Unfortunately, the BJP spokesperson do that every time they have a fantastic stick to beat the Congress with. The Congress doesn't have anybody worth debating their own agenda, except probably Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Singhvi. Jayanti Natarajan is a joke. I dont know why Congress even sends her to these supposed debates.

But why does BJP have to scupper such handsome opportunities to score brownie points beats me.

There was no need for Mahesh to nearly froth at his mouth and have a high-BP demeanour. There was enough and more material that could have led the debate but then as usual it meandered into a nonsense discussion.

How smoothly you speak a lie?
You have no fear of what you will face at the gates of your so called heaven?
Anyways, most of the people here do not watch NDTV so you must carry on with your story.

I agree. The BJP does not care much about these things. It needs better spokes person like Venkish Naidu who is really good.
But Ms Dutt also helps Congress when there is problem,by taking a break and diverting.
