Congress is confused...
by democrazy on May 05, 2009 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

Congress is clearly on shaky ground. They have hurried to clear Quattrochi. Now they are almost begging Nitish, Naidu, Naveen, Left front to join them and accept Man Mohan as PM.

They took over a week to file an affidavit in SC in the black money case even though the earlier time given by SC was 48 hours. Did they make any arrangements to move the money out in the meanwhile? Gurumurthy and Subramaniam Swamy have written extensively about the money stashed by the first family of Congress and yet they do NOT file a defamation on them. This simply goes to show that they are in deep trouble.

Amar Singh made a pointed remark - Man Mohan is Congress candidate, UPA will select its candidate after the election. Rahul says Man mohan's candidature is non-negotiable. Why are the UPA parties still sticking to Congress? They should formally dissolve and get

Are they thinking that Indian voter is so dumb?
If they really have any principles they should declare their alliance and not insult the voters who vote either on anti-BJP or anti-Congress preference.

Amar Singh is right ... the current candidate must be acceptable to all coalition partners and partners will change after the election.

right now, it looks like a very very divided and hung LOk sabha ... no government, but plenty of opposition and everyone desiring to be part of the govt.

money will come to the rescue ... afterall what good is money if it cannot buy happiness ... sorry, MPs.

But there is definite strategy to confuse the voters - those who are voting on anti-congress plank, should vote for NDA or BJP. Otherwise, these groups will abuse their votes and form a govt in coalition with Congress. Same holds true for those who vote on anti-BJP plank. Let them vote for Congress, rather than the third or fourth fronts.

BJP did in 6 years what COngress could not do it 60 yrs
by anjaneya on May 05, 2009 07:38 PM  | Hide replies

Golden Quadruples: Infrastructure development
Sarva Siksha Abiyan (SSA): For providing education to all
Initiated Study panel to link all Indian rivers: For agriculture / economy development
Pokran Nuclear test: To proclaim world that is India is technically capable and changed India’s role in world as dictating country instead just listening country
Good management of economy: Part of India’s loan repaid
Look east foreign Policy: Instead of running behind western countries, concentrate on Eastern countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia etc and get the items cheaply
Initiated Muslim / Hindu leaders dialog: To solve Ayodya issue amicably as the court is delaying its verdict & as 2/3 majority not available to pass a motion like Shawbanu case.
Implementing Laws Like POTA: Which will make the Indian origin people fear to help / support foreign origin Terrorist activities to control terrorism
Abdul kalam as President & George Fernandez as Defense Minister: Shown people that BJP is Secular / Patriotic Muslims & Christians will always get their deserving positions
Effective control of TRAI: Which made the cell phone network revolution in India
Effective control of Railways: Which become base for current development in railways.
And much more. pseudo secularist of this country are only concerned about minorities and whoever talks in their favour is supposed to be secular and one who talks about hinduism is communal. All secularist should stay in Pakistan

Rahul admits his party influencing CBI...
by democrazy on May 05, 2009 07:27 PM  | Hide replies

I watched Rahul's interview, and he made a major admission on the influencing of CBI, even as he tried to defend it as a systemic issue and all parties do it. It shows that CBI was influenced by Congress whenever they felt the need - ex. Quattrochi case, Mulayam assets, Mayawatis Taj corridor and disproportionate assets, Lalu's fodder scam, etc.

At another level it showed that defeat is staring them (Congress) as he went about praising the left, Chandrababu Naidu, Nitish Kumar, Naveen Patnaik etc. All these parties draw their strength from the voters who are opposed to Congress ideology, and corrupt administration. If these parties think they can align with Congress after the elections, it is an insult to the voters who voted for them, and voted against Congress. If they really are for tie-up with Congress, they should have made such an announcement prior to the voter went to the booth to vote for them. I hope the parties which asked for vote on anti-Congress plank, respect the sentiments of their voters otherwise, the voter will lose faith in them, and probably vote for Congress directly rather than indirectly through such fickle minded anti-congress parties. Thus a voter can make up his mind whether or not they should go with BJP or Congress. The third and fourth fronts which now attack both these parties are going to align with one or the other.

cont'd...

It is a mockery of democratic system and public faith in them, if they decide to ally with a party which they opposed and abused tooth and nail all these days.

yes, sadly so. We do not have fail-proof anti-defection laws. Anyone asking for vote on a specific plank should not be allowed to switch side or support the party against which he or she fights. If need be they should resign their seats, and contest again, that too only when their party permits them to do so. Otherwise they should serve the term for the party on whose symbol they won the election.

forget any change to the constitution ... dont expect some 30-40 parties to come to an agreement or be able to provide two third support that will harm their interests to make money from their positions

true. we may have to wait for a bout of dictatorial rule by the army. otherwise no chance of changing things. while this is not an ideal solution, one may be forced to think of it.

Or, the Supreme Court should formulate a law and ensure this circus does not go on.

NSA on varun was slapped by mayawati to grab musl1m votes which otherwise split beween non-BJP candidates

don't blame congress for slapping NSA on varun. congress and SP are actually victims of this tactical move by Mayawati
