Mayawathi

I dont think she is fit to become one. But as a Nationalist and Indian I feel she is preferable than Sonia and her slaves.

Entire India is a DALIT COUNTRY compared to the Developed Nations
by Sharad on May 05, 2009 09:55 AM

India is a DALIT when you compare it with developed nations, just as we compare individuals with others, saying one person is a Dalit, and another is an upper caste etc.

It is what WE MAKE OF OUR LIVES. If we believe we are Dalits, we will BECOME ONE. It applies to individuals and nations equally. The reason India is a Dalit is because it does not believe in itself that IT CAN DO it.

virendra ,
I believe you have it right but i would tend to think BSP doing slightly better . So BSP would get 28-30 , mulayam 20-25 .

Reality is more like this

BSP = 45
SP = 25
BJP plus Cong = 10

BJP and cong are steady on a path of self destruction and they just stepped on the accelerator too !!

Pratham ,

I dont think your figures are quite right . I would say it is neck to neck between BSP and SP togeather the big two may win close to 55 seats . the remaining 25 will be distributed in cong and BJP with cong getting around 10-12 and bjp around 13-15 .

Rise of Mayawati
by kehar singh on May 05, 2009 01:28 AM  | Hide replies

Rise of Mayawati in Indian politics has filled so called dalits all over India with self-esteem. And mind it, what to talk of developement/progress, without self-esteem life is worse than animals. This is the most significant and the most important contribution Mayawati has given to India. Otherwise, dalits were not consisdered as humenbeings by Congress, BJP, etc.

KEhar ,

I do not have a problem with Maya becoming prime minister but the problem is wil she have the numbers ? I do not think so .. Even the best estimates project not more than 40 seats for her . SO this time probably it is a little far fetched .
I believe congress and BJP together wil cross hal way mark and get around 300 seats between them . Which will make it impossible for TF to form the govt .
Ultimately third and fourth front will have to ally with either BJP or COngress .

As of today , it seems likely that the next govt might be congres led .

If Mayawati's becoming PM induces self-esteem in Dalit brother's I am for her to become PM. We should support her rather than loathing. It will be big victory over 5000 years of castism based society.

People are loathing her for her antics and not because she is dalit
As far as dalits occupying higher post It was R.K. Narayan, former president of india, who was a dalit by birth and a true intellectual by education. now compare your mayabehen.

He has become president because he was yes man. I think you better understand the meaning of yes man. Latest example is Manmohan Singh, and also our president Pratiba Patil. What is his contribution to dalits or even to India as president.

Only 25% voters gonna decide next PM
by Aqua E on May 05, 2009 12:40 AM

Seeing the early % polling , it's not eveb crossing 50% voting. That means 50% of the people are going to choose the leader and in that the elected person would get 50% vote ie overall he has only 25% supporter in total who is going to represent us... this is really downfall of Indian DEMOCRACY.

One should learn from western to respect rights,power of vote and human value.

There is no base for your assumption of getting 17 seats for UPA in Kerala. I dont know about the other. But if your assumtion goes like the Kerala one all of the preditions will be like that only.

Kerala has approximate 30% population each for Hindu ,Cristian and Muslims.The 90% Christains are traditional Congress(Now Soniya congress) and 99.9% Muslims are very well united and having the maximum bargain power.The balance Hindus are scattered in all parties(Even in Muslim league and a Muslim hard core PDP)The Scope for BJP is limitted.But all the hundreds of political parties only feared of these guys.They will never waste even a single chance to demoralise the BJP.In the present situation,if all the parties are facing election indipendently,the entire situation will change.The Muslim league and Kerala Congress(Christain wing of regional party)only will get some sure seats in there strong holds.Marxist may also get few seats in few other parts.All other parties..I belive, the Congress may lag behind even BJP! all parties know this very well.
