You might think that Gujarat is outracing and outpacing India, and Modi is singularly responsible for the boom. In fact, according to the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, Gujarat commanded a huge lead over other states: In September 1995, the state’s share was 14.45% of all projects under implementation in the country. At 9.43%, its nearest rival, Maharashtra, was a poor second. Maharashtra overtook Gujarat, but in December 2001 its lead over Gujarat was less than a percentage point. Then something happened, and by September 2002, Gujarat’s share fell to 8.78%; three years later, it was down to 7.67%, with Orissa ahead of Gujarat, and Karnataka close behind. Since then, Gujarat has recovered, but only slowly, and today commands 9.57% of investments in India. It is behind Orissa and Andhra Pradesh. Maharashtra is only half a per cent behind, and Haryana, West Bengal and Karnataka are trying to catch up.
These elections are proving to faithfully continue the work of the British: divide and rule. Every single politician has been concerned first with buying, appropriating, cheating to obtain votes, secondly every one of these stalwart egotists has beaten his own drum to the rhythm of provincial, local and communal politics. No sense or vision, no common sense or wisdom. No thought of a nation, no desire to create something new or serve the country and its people. No thought of the problems that are global and affect all Indians, no idea of how to solve the crises, no thought given to the people or to upholding their rights. Stupid communal slogans by shortsighted politicians and their campaign managers (in this they are very modern). What of India's place in the world? Their world is their backyard, what of the UN security council seat? What of the pollution and environmental issues? What of international issues, of China encroaching Indian territory, Bangladeshi infiltration, Pakistan's terrorists in Kashmir and by now all over India? Instead of addressing the issues that they have neglected shamefully they use cheap stunts to woo the local electorate. And these people are going to have the power to rule our country! For God's sake wake up Indians and unite to see that these fools don't continue the rape of our country.
If the North Indian Fanatics chant "Hindi,Hindu, Hindustan" then it is nationalism. If we Tamilians chant "Thamizh, Thamizhinam, Thamizhagam" then it is separatism.
Shame on you pseudo nationalist (Read as Nickerwalas)
