India or Bharat was never under one rule anytime. In 1947 all provinces were forced to come under one umbrella to throw out the British. There are so called only 2 national parties who are encouraging the regional parties to come to power. Hence the third and fourth front have come up. Two National parties have failed miserably from 1947 and after the first elections. Since these national parties are not bothered about other regions except New Delhi, the rest of India is doing what it wants. That is why only 40 to 50% votes and an MP/MLA is elected with 20 to 30% of the popular votes and the National Parties will be too happy with the numbers and not the percentage of votes they have got. At the end of the day people will say what is this democracy when a MP/MLA is elected with just 10 to 18% of the votes and 80% are against him/her. So every voter says "Saab Chor Hai" and then they feel that regional and local representative may be better and thus the National Parties have lost their character as a dominant force. Last but not the least none of these national parties are ready for an amendment to the constitution or for a National referendum. So a group of people administer a country with 20 to 30% of the popular votes and take decision for 1 plus billion people and any idiot also says that this will not last long. Only time will tell what is going to happen because the voters failed to vote and a sad picture of 20 to 45% voting is observed. Hence majority is against.

Please remember that Mdm Sonia Gandhi had the post of PM in her hands and she chose to give it up in favour of Dr Manmohan Singh. The Nehru-Gandhi family is solely interested in serving the nation, particularly the minorities and weaker sections of society.
