Reservation is BAD. Caste is Good.
by GN Sri on Apr 02, 2009 08:54 PM

It is because of the caste system, the Hindu Religion has survived. Caste is a natural progression of a secular society. People always want to belong to a small group as otherwise they lose their identity in a very large group (Like in cities). It is a product of social engineering. Even in the so called monolithic religions or societies, small groups spring up and demand seperate identity - Like protestants, sunnis, shias, druze, .....and so on. But when the society/religion abandons Non-violence/tolerance, such phenomena will turn into a violent struggle as is happening in neighbouring countries. In the extreme case, civil war like situation will take place in places like Pakistan and Afghanistan, though most of the population belong to a sinle religion. It is in human nature to form small identifiable groups to preserve individual identity. The society should allow for this kind of evoluyion, as otherwise, it will be pathetic and violence ridden society. Perhaps few in this forum will understand the advantage of caste system. Because people are carried away by slogans and short term gains by leaders without worrying about the long term implications. So do not throw the baby alongwith the bath water. Hindu or if you want to call it Indian so be it, But caste system is Good as it provides an identity of belonging to a group and also a healthy vent to differ from the masses and mobs.

Speaking for its castes. Castes were determined by occupatiions earlier by the sociologists. Now as Brahmins are marginalised these days by political system. It is right to speak about it. Are you not a brahmin ? Do you belong to any other castes or community ?

Reservation...for what?!!
by anshul chaudhary on Apr 02, 2009 11:50 AM

I dont think there should be any kind of reserveations for anyone...apart from the ones who are not financially secure and cannot afford good education. Discriminating on the basis of caste or religion or anyting else is just for gaining political mileage.

The Brahmins became a powerful and influential group in India by discriminating against 'lower' castes. In modern India, the Brahmins are complaining of reverse discrimination. Reaping ,what they had Sown.

And brahmins are paying for what one man did while drafting the constitution?????

He very well knew it that in democratic country what he is doing with a proviion for some time period will never last as these maniacs..leaders they will always extend the quota ????

Every 2 years a new caste gets added to reservation, do you think it is right for INDIA. By giving reservations on the basis of caste/religion is against fundamental rights as per constitution as it clearly says"RIGHT OF EQUALITY". Then how come quota comes in existance. Think before accusing any community as you are also eduacted if you know how to write on discussion boards.

L0l.
US Indian, on a serious not, y do you think i/we will not do it, if the circumstances require me to? Have you seen us whining, unlike you folks, for denying an equal place in a free, independant country? Though all the practices were committed by some of our ancestors, 100 yrs back, we are taking the punishment, accepted things with a pinch of salt and moved on.

In fact, most of the atrocities were committed by the OBCs. The US Indian is probably one among them. OBCs are the real culprits then and now.

A question particularly for you:
Is this the same with you too....
Do you do any of these activities...
n if not (although i m sure you don't do any of these)
then why people like you are still getting reservation...

dear bro, Just stop talking stupidity...

Come n raise your hands to give reservation to those who really need it...

Don't argue on what was done in past,
Think on what should be done for future...

Think of 'us' not 'I'.
Think of INDIA....

Hope you will try to make a resonance with this frequency...
only then we can make a difference...

The list of activities shown by the US-Indian was perhaps uttered by him under a distinct state of revengeful mind-set, as could be seen in the 21st century. Those were perhaps some activities in our under-developed and highly divided casteic society, sometime 500-600 years ago and
now, there are no distinctions, in the 21st century, on who does what type of
work, irrespective of castes, whether he is Brahmin or Kayastha or Baishya etc.,
as to-day's situation is governed only by one's economic condition. So, economic status should be the only condition to decide all reservations in our country, as we have already crossed more than 60 yrs. since independence. There are very very poor people amongst the brahmins, kayasths, SC's, ST's, OBC's, muslims and others. They all should be evaluated properly on oconomic condition for giving revervations - from primary education to higher education, from small jobs to higher jobs etc., but without compromising with the quality, talent etc. on any field. THANKS.

Since Hinduism is covert mask for Casteism, Govt must appreciate cultural and socio-economic diversity in Private Institutions, Temples, Judiciary and in Defense services.

* 50% of Temple Priests,Judges,Defense Staff must be from OBC communities.
* 35% Temple Priests,Judges,Defense Staff must be from Dalits and Tribals.
* Remaining Temple Priests,Judges,Defense Staff must be from other Castes.

You must do this till 85% of all registered marriages in India are INTER-CASTE or INTER-FAITH.
This is the only way to STOP India from dis-integrating.
