This has benefitted only their own party workers, and helped the party earn money for itself through corruption.

Congress fools nation
by zoka on Mar 31, 2009 06:46 PM  | Hide replies

Congress governments at centre as well as at state level just fool people of this country. Those fools do not know that a year has 365 long days. They are boasting for 100 days guarantee employment. What would labourer do for rest of 265 days? No answer. What surprises me is that no body talks about these 265 days. In Maharashtra Congress had promised to make Mumbai like Shanghai. What is the status now. Mumbai has deteioratd to such an extent that it can not be called a metro city by any standard. Because of this NREG scheme the labour cost has increased to intolerable level in villages and farms while farmers are not getting compensated for this increase. It is taxpayers money which is blatantly misused. They should not provide doles to underprivileged rather make them able to that they start living with dignity.

Zoka ,

Earlier big farmers exploited these labour ( the ones who get 100 rs for 100 days ) now they can at least work 100 days for reasonable wages . Earlier these same people had to work in rich peoples fields for next to nothing and agricultre labour is anyways a seasonal thing .
As you have mentioned in your post that NREG has caused the labour cost to go up , that by itself is indicative that NREG is working . Kudos to govt for bringing out this scheme for RUral poors .

I am certain that you have not written these with you experience at your village. Big farmers have shifted to mechanized farming long back. It is small or marginal farmers like us who have suffered. Previous to last year congress had imported rotten quality wheat for 1200 per quintal but refused to pay more than 780 for Indian farmers. As a result though being primarily agrigrarian country the cultivation is gradually reducing as farmers are finding it too difficult to continue farming without any decent return. This scheme though has brought some income to few but that has vitiated the atmosphere in villages.

Such guys will never want Indian agriculture to progress using modern technology. Our farm productivity is 1/7 of world standards, and this guys is talking about the equivalent of going back to charkha for textiles, and using those same old excuses.

Move on, fella. The world is changing. Let India progress.

Best PM
by JK on Mar 31, 2009 06:28 PM  | Hide replies

Manmohan is honest & uncorrepted and a scholar man. we need him at this finiancial crisis time.
Advani's record is not good in the past. As the home minister what he did to the country, and what is his experiance in the External affair?.
When Advani was as Home minister,
- The parliment was attacked
- Red fort was attacked.
- Inidan Air line flight was hijacked. Advani released Terrorists and went in the same filght with the terrirists.
- Gujrat Riot was fuelled.

And he was behind most of communal violance(s) in India.

Advani's view is not even agreed by many BJP leaders. He was isolated/objected many times in his party itself, especially when he called Jhinna as secular.
How can Advani be a strong/good PM for whole India!!!. He may be good for some minister post but not for PM which is looked at beyond politics & worlwide and he cannot face the world leaders (which require special skill). Manmohan is the best person for PM at this time..

MM Singh is a spineless man. He is not fit to be the PM of the whole country, after he said that muslims have the first claim to the resources of the land. His communal budgetting has neglected the 82% of Indians and thus has proved to be divisive. He is now the face of communal Congress which has polarised the indian society.

Yeah ... BJP sacrifised its ideology to remain in power for 5 years ( civil code , mandir ) all the issues it fought election on , it sacrifised for its allies as compared to congress which ditched communists just to achieve 123 agreement .
Now you decide , a party which leaves its ideology to remain in power for 5 years or a party which stakes its govt for what it believes in ... its your choice .

The 123 agreement will prove to be disastrous for India in the long run. Congress got huge amounts of money from America to subordinate the nation to US.Since Sonia is not patriotic to India, she ensured that her puppet MM Singh surrendered the sovereignty of India to America. It is all a game of money.

Rediff is very quietly and surely helping the BJP campaign
by Sid Sharma on Mar 31, 2009 06:00 PM  | Hide replies

It's very obvious. Rediff is very carefully and quietly trying a build a public opinion against the Congress and in favour of the BJP. Surely there got to be a reason for that. Rediff should know that in long run, only that medium thrives which is unbiased and apolitical. You could be doing a great service to BJP but you are doing a great disservice to your profession. Of course, it's your call whether you want to branded as a stooge of a political party or be remembered for its candid and righteous reporting.

because a few days back an article was publised and the author taruuuna something (of some Dr moookherjii research institue) potrayed a swmsvk having furled tricolor 6 times, from red killaha. he went on giving him credits which were no true. the only true was the fact he was running the govet with the coalition of 25 parties having diverse views. the others like IT sector got stated becoz of swmsvk. the IT sector was started by R gandhi. RG brought computers and enlisted sam pitroda for the development of the IT and telecom sector. and the IT sector was well under way at that time. however the place got slowed with shing india of swmsvk. it again regained during the current congi rule. tarooon did not mention the snub the swmsvk got at usa by the usa pres and the swmsvk left the venue of discussion. the swmsvk was saying one thing today and contradicting the next day with a journalist angle. it is to his credit that he contradicted his own statement and the contradicition never came thro pmo or other person. the other thing about transfer of nuclear device with out the usa satelites detecting, then it was not for the first time that an activity was carried out under the nose of usa satelites. previously many long range misiles were positioned without the usa knowing. and the other things about congi was just rotten not worth reading.

Rajiv Gandhi also lavishly over-spent our foreign Exchange, so much so India had to pledge her gold reserves to get World Bank loan. This is what happens when a novice becomes PM or holds a responsible top position. If his son is made PM some day, history will repeat itself! It will be the nation which suffers.

Main problem
by Mr Walker on Mar 31, 2009 04:22 PM  | Hide replies

Main problem with UPA and Congress policies is to dole out freebies under name of "help" rather than encourage and create environment to help people become self sufficient.

This same problem is seen in its agriculture policy where farmers are given loan bailouts rather than helping them sustain without loans and subsidies and making agriculture self sufficient.

Agriculture is one profession where if proper planning is done a community in certain area can become completely self sufficient and independent of others including big companies which sell fertilizers and pesticides.

The only way our country can achieve independence is by making its farmers self sufficient and prosperous rather than trapping them in the vicious jaws of loans and chemicals and traders.

This problem also exists in their policy of caste/religion based reservation where absolutely no clue is given as to how the millions of dalits and minorities will get quality education and be able to mix with society. Rather reservations have created division and hatred.

We want to build a strong independent society instead of a weak dependent society that has to depend on govt. dole outs to survive.
