congress itself is a joke, all their allies ditched them, weather its UP or Bihar, the only one who is supporting them is biased Indian media especially NDTV, by playing anti-BJP news all day.

Anyone for Smaller Government Role.
by imran patel on Mar 27, 2009 06:28 PM  | Hide replies

Concept of Smaller Governments.

Unless we Indians understand the concept of smaller government, I find it difficult to be optimistic about a change in our daily lives.

Think about it,
- The government is the biggest employer in the country
- The government does NOT make any money, it collects money and then spends it in an un-wisely fashion (I am saying that in a very polite way)

We are still living in this seudo-communist state, where we think government is the solution to all problems. When infact, government is the root of all problems.

I will not blame any government here. It is the nature of the Beast. It is not the right institute to solve our nations problems.

Government will always pander to get votes, because it is a political outfit. We need less government and more private firms.

Private firms run on profits, THE BOTTOM LINE. They have benchmarks
They are accountable
They have to make profits (Share Holder investment)
They are LESS prone to corruption
They have leadership that is not pandering to any voting block
They encourage competition, eventually to the benefit of the consumer
They do NOT have reservations
They reward hard work
They FIRE lazy people

Agree, private firms cannot do everything. The nations defense, Tax collection, Judiciary and some other functions need to be with the government. Nothing more than that.

A bigger government is a recipie for discrimination, exploitation, corruption and FAILURE.

I agree most of your views. When it is fully private, the negative points are
1. They normally form a cartel and manupulate the prices (e-g)the tariff of mobile telpehones before MTNL enters into the scene
2. Most of the private firms uses political pressure(i need not tell how) for their benefits in a wrong manner
3. There may not be small scale corruption, but a large scandal (e-g) Satyam
4. They wont bother for general public and do anything for their profits.
e-g dyeing industry spoiling ground water, private mobile towers radiate more power than permitted which affects the human in long run though they are giving good coverage now.
5. Most of the private firms manupulate the workers. Many firms are not giving the salary what they are signing and not EPF and other benefits
I do agree in govt there is corruption, no reward for hard work and no action against erring and lazy people. The govt should correct its mistakes, but should not go for fully private. You wont cut and throw a organ which is giving trouble. You have to make it good.

An Insult to the Indian people.
by imran patel on Mar 27, 2009 06:17 PM  | Hide replies

Politicians who call the people of this great nation "Aam" should realize that they are actually insulting us.

None of us is "AAM". We all have unique skills and characters. There is nothing AAM about any one of us.

People need to realize this. When politicians call us "AAM", they are treating us like cattle and sheep.

Enough of this non-sense.

Lets start respecting individuals and start recognizing that each one of is unique and special.

All these "AAM" Netas...go to HE!!.
