This one man and the CPM are responsible for the sorry state of West-Bengal we see today. This man ensured that people have no jobs, no food, and no access to healthcare. Interestingly, for the treatment of this very same monster crores of taxpayer's money was being spent, just to keep his bones alive. All this while India's poorest are dying on the cold street. Shame India...

All the discussion board messages say negative about basu, just follow somebody's earlier comment. One of the survey conducted by vigilance department in all state said west bengal is the best for bribery and corruption free state, and all other states, which every techies says about big industries this, that are first in corruption and bribery. He ruled 23 years, without pay money for getting vote, where as now these politicians pay Rs.500 to every people to come for a seat. The people like him and elect as CM, which means he is corruption less person.

Babu ji, do you know that this man made his son a billionaire while bengal went to the dogs? Blood runs thicker than ideology in commies. Get the facts before praising him. I am celebrating his death and so is bengal. Hell to the tyrant.
Who will do the dirty work if all SC / STs become babus thanks to reservations? Answer these Bangladeshi migrants. We can treat them like the blacks of America and after 200 years given them equal opportunity. Good thinking commies. Love your feudalism / laziness. LOL
We all know that 94 Year-old Jyoti Basu led the agitation AGAINST introducing Computers in India. Also, after 80 Years of Political life [which cost West Bengal and India dear!] Basu understood his folly and declared publicly that "West Bengal NEEDS CAPITALISM"! Atleast he is honest enough to admit that and hence he is a much better COMMIE than the dishonest GANG of Karats, yechuries and Bardhans who continue to pull the country back.

Things changes with time dear...Even the king of capitalism - the US is now forced to take the path of socialism to protect their economy. Policies and ideologies atr not static things and changes with time...nothing's wrong in it.
And, my simple conclusion is if the people of WB is not happy with them, its impossible to win subsequent elections for so long. Is intelligence of the people of WB different from other parts of the country? And neither its possible to win election with so called scientific rigging...people love them and vote for them...that's it.

Somnath, in that case why did Jyoti babu publicly said "West bengal needs CAPITALISM"? Why practice Capitalism in the name of Communism? Capitalism may have its weak points, but the World has irreversibly junked Communism except in the fossilised minds of confused Bengalees!

You think of us as "confused Bengalees!", we think of you as "mindless idiots"..its all about perceptions...just kidding!
Why hate him only because he had made an mistake just once in life? And how many leaders are there in India who can actually confess their mistakes in public? He has a looooong career in politics and how can you expect "zero error"?
And I think, you are confused a bit as they only use the name CPM and are not hardcore communists. Communists never take part in multi-party democracy. CPM is nothing more than a political party in India, just like Cong, BJP, etc, with an ideology influenced by communism. That's all.
