Can Media do ''Credit-Rating'' of individual candidates?
by Tulsi Tawari on Mar 25, 2009 06:30 PM

Recall Rajiv Gandhi once said only small % (was it 10 or 15%) only reach people. Rest is pilferred by bureaucracy and politicians. Is situation any better or even worse now?

What voters can do? Keep changing? But then do we have any new choices? All parties(national and regional combined) are equally bad, led by leaderships with no ability to develop and build own organizations that they can be proud of, yet guaranteed with some share of votes in democracy, from one state or another. Where else votes go anyway?

The only possible way ... maybe... find a reasonable candidate, whichever party they may belong to. Or even Independents. As long as they can be trusted somewhat not to lie to us, and have some feeling for the nation, beyond their own self. Now, how to find them?

Well, let us hope that MEDIA people play the role of "Credit-Rating the individual candidates", instead of wasting their time on other aspects.

Mighty netas

Though voters can teach politicians and political parties a befitting lesson in elections, but it rarely happens in India where the masses have been handsomely divided by the politicians on the lines of caste, religion etc.Such vital issues like-infrastructure,power,water,terrorism,slumping economy etc in particular and progress of the country in general means nothing neither for the electorates nor for our netas.Taking adventage of the ignorance and illteracy of the masses-our netas have divided our people on caste and religion grounds and continue to loot our nation. Our pan-India voters as a whole united block teaching our corrupt politicians a lesson through the powerful ballot looks a distant dream-God save our nation!

Yes, they have done in Tamil Nadu. It is reported that people in the various constituencies have already decided on the price for their votes and have told the political parties accordingly. The politicos are scrambling for funds to purchase votes.

What is the meaning of 'well-granulated plan of action'? I referred to the dictionary and it says 'granulate' means 'to become grainy'. Apparently the word has been used just to flaunt. Be that as it may, the article is quite reasoned and surprisingly not rabidly anti-BJP for a journalist from "The Hindu" fold.

Both the Journalist and the Dictionary are RIGHT - Granulate means Grainy and well granulated meand "All the grains(Pixels in computer Language) are in the exact sequence or place HENCE the PICTURE is very CLEAR, now this need not necessarily mean literally a PICTURE but it can also mean IMAGE(Abstract) - Thus the Plan of Action(of whatever you were reading)is very clear and leaves no scope for doubt.

SAVE INDIA
by Anand sodo on Mar 25, 2009 05:55 PM

Never vote for any REGIONAL PARTY(Each regional party has more than one PM!! and are very active in the 'SALE' MARKET!!))

ALWAYS VOTE for CONGRESS or BJP (National level party)

NEVER vote for the RULING party CANDIDATE(Always alternate - otherwise they start thinking that the voter is their Subordinate)

Inevitable Evolution
by Meta Mind on Mar 25, 2009 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

Let us analyze threadbare:

1. The two major parites of our Country has failed miserably in giving a clear cut direction to India. 2. Cong(I) has mindset of Dynastic Politics, which will lead to its dilution. 3. BJP has "Self-Exposed-Hindutava Agenda", Which will lead to its dilution.
4. It is a fact that, India is evolving rapidly in various spheres, especailly Socially. Such changes are bound to give birth to the new ideology, and hence parties. That's why so many regional parties are taking birth.
5. India is a Big Country, even a regional Party in one big State can influence the Politics at centre Level. 6. Democray should not be made a Pvt. Limited Company, of two major Parties. That's why, Cong(I) and BJP are against Third Front.
Now,
1. Let the Regional parties grow and show their result. Why jump the guns before even they have got a chance.2. Democracy, especailly of India should not be govenred by Two party system. At least, till we get 90 percent literacy, less BPL families, and a overall strong Economics. Mindset of two party sytem is like, either they or we. This is not good.3. Such upheavelas are inevitable considering the history of India. We should not worry. But at the same time, who ever forms Govt., he should understand that, "We the People" are watching their performance. In Democracy, anybody can form Govt.4. People should have the Alternate option too. So let us have a third front typo group too. 5. Parties will have to stress on "DEVELOPMENT".

Regional parties have only two viz make as much money as possible and take care of the interests of their constituencies even against the national interest. Too many regional parties in Parliament will make it like jirga, the partliament of Afganistan. You know what is happening there.
