Political Parties are now a very big Industries .Total turnover for all parties put together would be mind blowing 50000 crores approx of which 90 % remain in black and 10 % remain white to show to election commission . Leaders need not sweat blood and dart for earning and their only weapon is oratory skill and thousands of employed (unofficial) members .I think it is good to see so many political parties in India and I am happy that nearly 10 lakh people are directly or indirectly employed by this parties for their lively hood .One need not learn education, need not sweat for getting organised jobs .The only qualifications are you join a political party and learn the art of slogans, wall writting ,organisational capacities .Soon There will be a Institutions where couse on such things will be available along with management course on political party management .
honestly i cannot understand what the article stands for.communists are ruling westbengal for 30 yrs, tripura for 15 and in tamilnadu if mgr was alive he would have been ruling till now. modi doesnt give seat to a single muslim out of 182 and its this attitude in apolarised society which helps him and not any positive incumbency.muslims form 10%of gujarat populaation and if even the basic democratic courtesies are ignored where comes the positive.he is the forefather of varun and used to talk ham panch hamara pachees and now he is hailed. once he loses he will be the next kalyan singh of bjp and will repent for all.sheila dixit wins because the alternative malhotra was awful and not because of positive incumbency.there r atleast 25% strong anti bjp vote in any state and in states like tamilnadu/kerala/westbengal etc its close to 80%and so any congress leader who can get 15% and see to that there is noother alternative to bjp will win. the same in reverse in chattisgarh where a chaval baba raman singh is preferred to the scheming ajit jogi.
1. Bharat Ratna for Afzal guru 2. Release & Indian citizenship for kasab 3. Death punishment for Malegaon accused 4. Jail for Varun 5. Ban on RSS, VHP & Bajrang dal 6. Free land for SIMI 7. Jazia tax on Hindus (Majority have to contribute more to prove themselves secular) 8. Aurangzeb's picture on Rupee notes 9. Madarsa education compulsory for all govt jobs 10. 80% quota for minorities 11 More concessions for Haji 12. More appeasement throgh HRD ministry. 13. More Kacchar Commissions. 14. More terrorists attacks 15. Supporting SIMI, like institutions. 16. Creating India into a soft state for Terrorists. 17. More suicide of farmers 18. More Power cuts or no power at all. 19. Bofors / Sukhram like scams 20.Embarrasing / cursing Majority community. 21.Encourage Girls / wife / Sisters to go to PUB for drinking & smoking, etc.
Anti-incumbency is a convenient word coined by parties to shround their failure at the hustings due to their bad policies and bad performances while in power.
People voted them out, and the affected parties called it anti-incumbency. Indeed here people are throwing out bad-incumbency.
Good incumbency has been rewarded like in Gujarat, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat. Even in Tamilnadu though Jayalalita was voted out in the last assembly electinos, it was not bad-incumbency - rather the opportunistic alliance by the opposition parties and the lack of it by the ruling party.

I agree 100 percent with you. The ruling party take the common people for a ride. Very very few cases do we see the ruling government showing the intentions of doing what it promised. UPA government has to go, I dont know the alternative. I can suggest to alternative, but for the betterment of this nation this government has to go. What we have seen is the most blatant misuse of power since Indira gandhi days in the 70s
This election will be an election of freebies with all parties offering various freebies from Rs. 2-3 / kg rice to gold mangalsutra for new couples, colour TVs and what not. We are heading for an economic fiasco. Parameswaran, Rourkela

We call ourselves a democracy. We dont have a common civil code as in USA or UK. We say J&K is an integral part of India, but is given a special status. What has been done in Ayodhya is atrocious, I agree. But at the same time a Ram Mandir there will result in huge benefits to the Muslim community there, who are in majority. Typical example is Guruvayoor Krishna temple in Kerala, which is surrounded by muslims (80%) and because of the temple, the muslims over there have prospered inasmuch as some 30 years back when there was a fire in the temple, it was the muslim community who first rushed to douse it because their livelihood was at stake. Let us learn the lesson. Parameswaran, Rourkela

You have a point Mr. Parameswaran. However what's this obsession with a particular longitude and latitude in deciding the precise point at which the temple should be located? Can't it be located anywhere in Ayodhya?
The fact is no one - nether you nor me nor any of the so called experts on this matter were present during Lord Ram's birth to certify a particular spot as the exact spot of Lord's birth. However what we and the people of our generation had noticed was there was a structure standing there. There was no need to pull it down IMHO - that too through a mob and not via courts.
