so he is not tactful. He should say anything to please the minorities to get elected, and after the election, he should say what he really means. That is the difference between a novice and a seasoned politician.

India as it is today did not exist before 1947. There were frequent fights between H1ndu-H1ndu Kings, Mus1im-Mus1im Kings and Mus1im-H1ndu Kings in the middle ages. We cannot go back in a "Time Machine" and correct historical wrongs.

Our Country belongs to all, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, re1igion, region, etc. However the yoke of secularism cannot rest on the shoulders of one section of the society only. We all have to strive for peace to prevail in our Country.

The first Iron plough manufactured in India was in the year 1904 by the late Shri. Laxmanrao Kirloskar. Credit for manufacturing the first mono-bloc pump and Electric motor also goes to him. What ever progresss we we can see in our Country today came into exitence only after that.

The Kings (whether H1ndu, Mus1im or any other) were only interested in amassing wealth, filling up their harems with beautiful women, building monuments, etc. The did not care for the common people. The Nizam of Hyderabad was one of the welthiest person in the world during his time and a good portion of his wealth (jewellery, etc) are even now stored in the vaults of HSBC Bank in Mumbai. We all know what is the condition of Mus1ims in Hydrabad. Had he cared for them, they would not have been in such a condition.

When we are taken for a ride by our Politicians under democracy (which is said to be of the people, by the people and for the people) we could very well imagine what the kings were doing!!!

This is from today's The Dawn, Karachi
by JGN on Mar 24, 2009 10:56 PM  | Hide replies

A shocking incident took place here in Zhob a few days ago when a woman (coming of a minority community) was murdered while she was walking along with her husband in a bazaar after 9 pm. She was accused of prostitution and became the victim of the merciless killers.

The incident happened after a campaign by a group of fanatics to purify society. Pamphlets had been distributed condemning the immoral business of CD shops, cosmetic and female shopping depots and overt prostitution by some members of the minority community.

The event is alarming and the first of its kind in this relatively Taliban-free area. Earlier, this type of extremism had been witnessed in the Taliban controlled areas of NWFP and FATA, but now it seems that the growing extremism has reached the most peaceful areas of northern Balochistan.

Does this seem to be the encouragement of pro-Taliban groups after the Swat deal? No one knows the exact answer to this question. But one thing is clear that this incident is going to be the harbinger of such activities.

VIshal, caste system exists in 1slam and X'tianity and some other countries like Japan, Nigeria, etc also. Put search words "caste system in 1slam" or "caste system X'tianity" and see the result. Also visit the web of "Dalit Voice".

Slavery in USA was more horrible than the caste system in India. Re ad "Uncle Tom's Cabin", "The Diary of a Slave Girl" and speech of Martin Luther King Jr "I have a Dream".

Caste system in India was more of a contribution of the invaders. Tippu sultan had made a prominent upper caste of Kerala (Nairs) lower than the "dalits" by a decree during his occuption of Malabar. Similarly the Brithshers had made "Marathas" (a prominent warrior community of Maharashtra) lower castes as they fought against them.

The 1slamic invaders had declared those who refused to convert to their re1igion "lower castes". I do not think the ancestors of the late Mr. Kanshiram were in fact "dalits" as he is more fair than many of the so-callled "upper castes"

Probably No, Ved Vyasa who is said to have divided the Vedas into four and also wrote Maharabhata was the son of a "fisher-woman". Valmiki was a tribal. Caste system in Vedic era was defined by profession and not by birth.

What is the contradiction? Pl re ad: "Calicut: The City of Truth Re-visited" by Prof. MGS Narayanan. This is a students ediction published by University of Calicut (and not some sanghi book)!!!

They had fought Tippu relentlessly and got their position restored. Tippu had to run away from Palghat (Malahar) tucking his tail between his legs due to their stiff resistance and had not dared to reutrn to Malabar till his death at the hands of the Britishers.

We need to be strong internally to face external threats .. instead of worryng who is drinking in which pub , destroying libraries , manhandling ppl the work done to improve the masses like schools , orphanages wil foster good will... These ppl only cater to cow protection opening Goshalas .. Lot of Lower caste ppl eat Beef ..
This small issue is used by ppl to convert as i have seen personally ..

Any equivalent of Convent schools (forget their merits/demerits )by Hindu organizations whr ppl flock to study ???

Ours is a "Welfare State". It is the responsibility of the Govt to provde education for all irrespective of caste, creed, colour, re1igion or region.

The responsibility of the State (Country) cannot be outsourced to the missionaries or the religious leaders!

We are already paying surcharge and a host of other taxes exclusively for improvement of education. Where does that money disappear???

'Religion can't come on empty stomach. For poor religion comes in the form of bread. Give bread, give secular education, improve their material condition, cover their half-naked bodies with some semblance of decency, and then tell the masses about spirituality. Then, talk of realization of Atman and Brahman, God and Religion. Oh, my Mother India, to what pitiable condition you have come to.’- Vivekananda

X'tians are only befooling the illiterate dalits/tribals of Orissa and MP in the name of non-existent g0ds and heaven.

I challenge any one to convert me to any other re1igion. If they are successful, I will spend the rest of my life for propagation of that re1igion. Any takers??
