by Girish on Mar 24, 2009 10:13 PM

Not many men would have dared to do what that lady did !Not any !!
No wonder Indians considered Shakti as a feminine principle !
Give us more such leaders and we shall attain a Golden Age.
Wonder what the Election Commission will do ? Not likely to order that gun licences galore be issued post haste , eh ?

NO RESPECT WOMEN IN A COUNTRY WHERE GOD IS WORSHIPPED AS WOMEN
by kedem kemorah on Mar 24, 2009 12:33 PM

It is futile to expect guys like M Yadav and L Yadav of Bihar to show any respect to women. In fact they have been at the vanguard of repeatedly blocking of the passage of the Womens' Bill in Parliament for so many years, despite Sonia Gandhi being the de facto PM of India and their ally within the UPA.

Will CEC Chawla conduct a fair and free elections I doubt
by komaatha on Mar 24, 2009 09:47 AM  | Hide replies

Will he take action against Mulayem??? No No No
No way CEC Chawla will ensure Congress win
Apropos It is baffling to note the government reject the CEC’s recommendation when Article 324(2) is emphatic that “the other ECs can be removed if the CEC approves their ouster.”

In the beginning, the Election Commission consisted of only the CEC. But the Congress (I) government just before the ninth general election appointed two more Commissioners in an attempt to compromise the independence of the Election Commission. It is curious how the amended rule (on January 2, 1990 by the National Front government), which restored the status quo ante, was negated and the multi-member body continued.

The Constituent Assembly had envisaged such disputes and had asked to constitute a collegium to decide on appointments such as the CEC, ECs to be above partisan politics. But the Administrative Reforms Commission cold-shouldered it. The Apex Court must be given the power to select CEC and ECs from the list given by the government taking the Opposition into confidence.

Well done Ms District Magistrate
by Grizzly on Mar 24, 2009 06:17 AM

This criminal mulayam knows that he wont be able to force voters to vote for him without guns so he is worried to lose elections.
cancel all their gun licences and if they are caught forcing voters, they should be put in jail.
These criminals have done enough bad to our country. Its time for them to sit in jails.
