by jafar zaidi on Apr 18, 2009 06:48 PM

People now do not have faith in Independednt candidate due to horse trading. In present day politics she stands little chance to win.

Anyone remember Asom Gana Parishad. They made an assembly almost full of College grads - subsequently the Govt had to be dismissed. Who said Education comes with degrees. Literacy and Education are 2 different phenomena

if india had primaries like the usa
by Pradip Parekh on Mar 23, 2009 10:43 PM

in usa it is quite easy for the super competent folks to enter elections with equal chance as the others because of its "primaries". an ambitious person can choose a party and enter the fray within the party before the final elections. such a method offers the pepole the best chance to elect a competent person, and avoids this "high command" corrupt culture, which must side with chamachas, leading to the same-face democrazy without the spirit. a persons like advani and sonia, eg, would have long been history in usa.

Meeraji you will find it very difficult to win the contest against the experienced stalwarts. But best of luck. Like they say when the going gets tougher, the tough gets going. All the best.

Good new or bad news
by Sathish N on Mar 21, 2009 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

only her agenda, its implementations and in what spirit, will say in the due course of time, if she succeeds. Simply because someone is educated does not mean he/she has good intentions. Simply because one is from the corporate does not mean he/she will do well in social administration.
