"Islamic Front of India" is the apt name for the "Third Front". I bet this font will come to power in the 2009 Elections with the outside support of Congress. Some a..hole like Mayawati or Laloo will be the PM. The leaders in the Third Front will fight like dogs within 6 months in power. Congress will withdraw power in 1 year and will come back to power in the next election. BJP will have no chance in the coming years with the increase of our minority population..

Mayawati is million times better than all BJP leaders. She represent the mainstream poor and weak who are seventy percent majority not wealthy traders or looter.

politics is not a game of one election Mr. Shenoy. Third Front is the mask of communist party. If just mayawati supports them, they will have enough power to decide who rules in this country and who does not. The idea amongst the people and politicians is that for a secure india, BJP must be kept out of power. If that happens, Third Front would have succeeded in its purpose.
You are cent percent right Mr.Shenoy.These fringe groups with MPs as less as 5, decide on course of politics for entire country.for ex. JMM. The politics of appeasement to particular community by all such fringe parties and add to that coalition compulsion is extremely dangerous to the sanity of democracy perpetuarated by power hungry politicians. You are right in saying that people have no say in democracy once the election is over, as we have seen in past that parties who contested against each other came together to form a government.Betrayel to people indeed. It is due to the corrupt and anti-national policies of the UPA government that the economy is being devastated. And now they are striking a defence deal with the US, in the hope of getting a huge kickback as they are unsure whether they can come back to power, despite all their manipulation of the state election mechanism, the so called secular media and government machinery. Shameless Congress supporters tout that MMS and Chidambaram are 'noted' (sic?) economists- what is the use of having economists in the government if they cannot steer the Indian economy away from recession to the path of unparalled growth? The growth rate of India is now 5%, vis a vis 7% for China. When the NDA left power, the Sensex was past 14,000, the GDP growth rate was near 10% (vis a vis China's near 11%) and the outlook was positive. Look at the mess and abyss in which the Indian economy has been brought to by 5 years of Congress rule with two 'noted' economists in the government, and think of the plight of the families of the millions of people who have lost their jobs. I have never ever seen such utterly inept governance of India.
The parties in the third front are disappointed with either congress or BJP because they were against themselves in UPA/NDA more than with Congress or BJP. if they could not stay together with a national party as convener/glue working to hold together, how can they be united?
