They ruled 5000 years considering themselfs are gods own men..

They made caste system and kept fellow hindus as slaves in their own country...

If they considered their fellow dalits as equal, NO British, NO Arabs, NO Pathans, NO French .... etc,,, would have entered our country.....

Now they come with new name BJP

EC and govt machineries to be blamed.
by Observer on Apr 30, 2009 10:13 PM

Mainly the Election Commission is to be blamed for the low turn out in most of the constituencies. Few reasons:

1. April-May are hot months in India. People are reluctant to go out for voting in scorching Sun.
2. Again April-May is the much awaited vacation time for people with small school going children. Particularly, people from big cities like Mumbai want to go to their native places after exams.
3. April-May is the exam time for many college going studants. A majority of parents like to take care of their children's study over going for voting.

On the top of it, about 10% people who actually go out to vote find their names missing from the voters lists. When the winning margin of 1% is rule of the day, 10% missing voters is a grave lapse on the part of the EC.

People who dont go out to vote, or those who dont care to check their names in voters lists share the blame for this lapse to some extent. But it is the primary responsibility of the EC and the Government machineries to ensure that it is convenient for most, if not all, people to participate in voting. They have the authority, resources and decision making power which can help in increasing the voter turnout.

In old days, elections used to be held at any time except hot summer. And voters turnout used to be 60-70%. Will

Poor Voter turnout is also the fault of the Election Commission
by C on Apr 30, 2009 08:06 PM

Earlier elections were held in pleasanter climes! Most schools are closed so parents have gone off on vacations with their kids for the summer. Several people who went to vote didnt find their names on the electoral rolls.
3 societies with a total strength of about 21 tall buildings , in my neighbourhood weren't on the rolls! At least 1000 votes not used!
Also the rentless heat causes people to consider their health first... no govt is going to compensate for your health!
No wonder the percentage is so dismal!!

The Nation urges all to vote. But so called Padmabhoosan and Padmashris are busy playing for their club in south africa without casting their vote. They are not representing India they are playing only for money.Government should immediate take back these awards. These stars are suppose to lead and set example in democracy but have failed miserbly.

Where are we heading towards ?
by raghuraj halembare on Apr 30, 2009 07:33 PM

Even after so many awareness campaigns , still voters turnout in almost all states is pathetic .Are we heading towards a Government which is elected by less than half of its voters population ? After so many iniatives also the literate urban population also not showing enthusiasm to elect its representative ?
Are we accustomed to being ruled by wrong candidates ?
