The strong leaders
by sarathy amudhan on May 03, 2009 12:35 AM  | Hide replies

The so called strong leaders of the family could not bring development to their pocket boroughs of Amethi and Rae Bareli in more than 5 decades. First let them explain why they have not been able transform these constituencies before they blame others for their actions.
Probably a leader has to stash away billions in numbered Swiss accounts / tax havens to qualify to be a strong leader. Advani would definitely not qualify in that case. That would of course leave the field wide open to the Gandhy family without any challenge from others.

One of my post was deleted by moderator I would like to know the reason. Is it that rediff allows only those posts which toe their political thinking. At least give a feedback why you have deleted some replies.

WHO IS WEAK ?
by bharat kapoor on May 02, 2009 01:13 PM

Who is weak ? Advani who with his no nonsense approach towards MUSHARAAF got him despatched empty handed from AGRA or Sonia - Manmohan Combine who for lack of political will couldn’t decide even in 4 years , mercy petition of the terrorist convicted by Supreme Court for attack on Parliament . But every day we see Sonia & Rahul SPEECHIFYING about Congress tackling terrorism with a strong hand . In their hearts these chair `chipkoos' are so timid that they are scared to punish even a convicted terrorist for fear of losing their chair . And the excuse is full of `black humour'-- there are senior convicts in the death row ! Pray must Sonia equate a terrorist killer of security men and a husband killer of wife's paramour . And see the efficiency - AFZAL's case is already 4 years old ! Even if the congress manages to get another term AFZAL'S case will still continue to wait . Why ? Because there would still be senior convicts . The `shrill' one should know that people realise that preventing a terrorist attack may be difficult because element of surprise is with the attacker but they expect swift action and deterrent punishment when terrorists are caught . That is strength ,not the ``shrillness quotient’’ . How the country's counterterrorism capability stood sabotaged in the last 5 years is topic of the day in world media ? But hey hey the congress is strong ?

The attacks on Parliament and the hijacking of Kanishka are the handi work of the internal traitors.

While the the release of the terrorists was warranted on account of several hostages. In case of the parliamnent attack, The convict Afzal guru is enjoying as a state guest. One chance to LK will definitely seal the fate of the terrorists and the internal traitors

BJP certainly had some better chances had they fielded narendra modi since he has stronger mandate than advani.
Advani as such by vertue of himself cant even win an MP seat. He is fighting election from gandhinagar that also he will win only because modi made BJP formidable winner in gujrat. But leaders like advani who waited for years to be PM in waiting certainly wont allow modi to be a PM candidate untill and unless he resigns.

Mansih...
You are sorely mistaken, this debate is now of the past.
BJP is winning everywhere. For once try and analyse the 3 phases that has voted already and clear the wool over your eyes.

One more chance for India to survive......
by Sundaram on May 02, 2009 08:09 AM  | Hide replies

Long time back, the most common political joke doing the rounds was this. A boat was once carrying the top 3 most hated politicians on high seas for a joy ride and half was thro', the boat capsized drowning all the three poli-ticians who did not know swimming. The person narrating the incident would then ask: "All 3 politicians downed but who survived ?" His intelligent friend would answer: "It is India that survived." In the same way, if India is to survive once more, as a nation, one hopes India can once again defeat all political part-ies with communal divide as their top most priority in their agenda. We need to maintain secularism at all costs, more than ever now.

I completely agree with you. Communalism is the parent of Terrorism. If you want to effectively & completely remove terrorism from India then communalism has to be thrown out lock, stock & barrel from India. India is known as a land of love & tolerance throughout its entire 7000 yr old history & not for hatred & intolerance. India today needs to be UNITED & SECULAR first & foremost everything else e.g. success, progress, development, peace, etc will automatically follow.
