Bofors Case
The Bofors scandal was a major corruption scandal in India in the 1980s; the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and several others were accused of receiving kickbacks from Bofors AB for winning a bid to supply India's 155 mm field howitzer. The scale of the corruption was far worse than any that India had seen before, and directly led to the defeat of Gandhi's ruling Indian National Congress party in the November 1989 general elections. The scandal was worth Rs 150 billion (Rs. 150 Arabs). The name of the middleman associated with the scandal was Ottavio Quattrocchi, an Italian businessman who represented the petrochemicals firm Snamprogetti. Quattrocchi was close to the family of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and emerged as a powerful broker in the '80s between big business and the Indian government.
Quattrocchi's role in Bofors scam, and his proximity to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi through his wife Sonia Gandhi, is thought to have contributed to the defeat of the Congress Party in the 1989 elections.
In January 2006, these frozen bank accounts were unexpectedly released by country's law ministry, apparently without the consent of the CBI which had asked for them to be frozen

what governance is it if they cannot control a local party (which you claim) is responsible for the riots? if BJP was responsible for the riots, cong should have done its best to thwart it and work towards banning it from contesting elections.

yes they should have amended constitution and should not allow such religional and communal parties constitution. They should have banned BJP in 90s itself.

hmm good.. but what about Nehru..he divided the hindustan into India and Pakisthan to get a PM seat..from there the war has started not from BJP rule ok..
Sikhs were killed during congress rule.
They only support to minorities and not majority people..
Atleast BJP though saying Hindu party, never gave any free bies to Hindus or Muslims..it just gave overall development like roads etc..
what congress did, though the SC/ST/BC guys are now financially strong, still they give more seats for them and they wont think of primary education which really required at the moment. This is how they divide and rule. Why reservations are required for already well settled people ?
Congress only makes people as beggars by giving a few hundreds of freebies and stall all the progress of the country.
already a dead party. all congress men are rowdyies, goondas, factionists, extortionist, kidnappers, looters. during congress time even a small bank branch managers are taking bribe each month earning ten lac rupees. for instance in Chennai the branch manager under securitisation act, whatever properties are comming for liquidate will be secretly announced to DMK cheif's grand children. In tern on each property the branch manager gets one million ruppee for favouring. that grand children ill gotten money will be pumped in & hold properties on benamy names and sell at premium may be 100 to 200% in the market rate in a year. no where the names will appear. Mr Gopala Krishnan Ex CMD was convicted for life imprisonment for 8.67 crores. but now each branch manager level it happening. Judiciary should swing into action on p chidambaram & all banks branch manager to CMD level to cough up the ill gotten money. this happened because of italian lady
