I detest Mayawati equally, but you guys should do some homework before making comments. Do you know that Mayawati is IAS pre-exam qualifier?

Nobody doubts her intelligence/cunning. But she's totally unprincipled, ruthless, and corrupt

Well few combine all these qualities into such a potent combination as behen Mayawati.Plus, she always uses the emotional protection of being a woman and a dalit both. Besides, it looks very bad to attack an obviously ill person like Mr Vajpayee, who is not involved in active politics. If Kanshiram had been attacked in this way when ill, we would have heard no end of it.

An ailing well educated person can write even when he is on deathbed....but Malit Mayawati does not understand this as sees everythign through her Malit Dalit eyes...she can't write and speak well even when she is 100% fit..so things about upbrining and education are out of her reach and mind!

You are support a corrupt and base politician her only strength is the gullible people in UP who cannot think above their caste.

Re: Seats Prediction for BJP/NDA for LS 2009
by True Indian on Apr 28, 2009 09:35 AM
All the OPINION POLL say BJP/NDA will get not more than 190 seats.
Congress /UPA is getting 230.
So Vote for UPA and make the country bright and secular.

Hope you have a strong heart because things will prove otherwise and NDA will rule the country for the next 10 years.

True Indian, Opinion Polls... yes, but whose opinion? Opinions of Rajdeep Sardesai, Arnab Goswami, Barkha Dutt, Prannoy Roy and Sonia Gandhi?
Don't waste your valuable time preaching and praying for a UPA vistory. UPA is just history in a month's time. Wait and watch.
The NDA will romp home with a victory that will leave you all shell shocked.

Good prediction. In fact everybody is counting on UPA victory but some miracle is going to happen this time. Mr Advani will become the PM too.
Re: Seats Prediction for BJP/NDA for LS 2009
by Concerned Indian on Apr 28, 2009 10:19 AM
I think you are a little over optimistic. 11 seats in Punjab and 24 in Karnataka, 12 in Assam, 30 in Maharashtraalso 34 in Bihar is a bit too much. Also, I'll be very surprised if BJP wins any seat in Kerala, and if Mr Sikdar wins in WB. 30 in UP is wishful thinking. I think about 220-225 would be the best the NDA could hope to get. Mind you, that'll be far more than the UPA. But the Left will rush to support the UPA, as will Mulayam, to form a 'secular' govt, and the NDA may find power slipping from its grasp at the last moment.
Re: Re: Seats Prediction for BJP/NDA for LS 2009
by Ajay Acharya on Apr 28, 2009 10:26 AM
Dear Concerned Indian, yes. A little optimistic in Karnataka and Gujarat. That is about 8 seats more predicted by Vinod that it can get. But the other states is as per expectation. Don't worry, in anycase, 260 is not too much. They will get there. It is the press that has smeared this lie on our heads that we find hard to believe these figures. They are closer to ground reality. The NDA/BJP will romp home and will have the last laugh in the 2009 elections.
Re: Re: Re: Seats Prediction for BJP/NDA for LS 2009

I don't know on what basis the figure of 30 in UP has been arrived at. Really, the BJP is in a shambles in UP (despite the alliance with Ajit Singh). Similarly, 17 in Rajasthan is very optimistic.

May be yes, in UP it may be a bit ruffled, but it is not that bad. the press made a mess of the Varun Gandhi incident and gave 8-10 seats extra on a platter.
- Anti-incumbency against Maya and public anger against SP is something that the BJP has been able to effectively gain from, compared to the Congress who cannot see beyond Sonia, Priyanka & Rahul.
- As for Rajasthan, BJP won 89 compared to Congress 96 among 200 seats. About 30 seats were lost within margin of 300-400 votes and rebel factor, of which the BJP lost 21. The BJP is far more cohesive after this loss and they are expected to do better. 15-18 is no problem in Rajasthan for the BJP.
- Yes, In Karnataka, the CNN-IBN opinion polls projected a victory for the Congress in 2008 assembly elections. Even the day before the counting, these rogues claimed Congress to get 81 seats out of 221 from an exit poll. They favoured the Cong to emerge the leader in a hung assembly. Devegowda was excited to play the role of a king makr yet again and further destroy Karnataka which he did for the last 4 years. But people of Karnataka had other plans and you see what happened.
The press has always got it all wrong. They messed ud big time in 2004 and ever since then, they have messed in all the elections including the Gujarat elections. The only times they were right was in the TN assembly elections and the Delhi elections. In TN, you don't need an opinion poll or a survey. It is once DMK, and once AIADMK every time.

As for AP, with raising the Telengana issue, they are expected to gather 3-5 seats in the region. Don't worry, things will get better. The Congress leaders are now only focussing on seats where the winnability factor is high. That is one good reason to believe that they are getting ready to read the message on the wall.

Yes I agree with you that the press is totally pro-UPA. After doing these shamelessly wrong opinion polls/surveys, on counting day, the sanctimonious b--tards will appear on TV moaning how difficult it is to be a psephologist in such a vast and diverse country like India. emember, CNN/IBN in their opinion poll had given Cong a clear majority in the Karnataka assembly polls.
