I have seen Kerala Police roaming from compartment to compartment in search of someone smoking near the toilets, especially peopel comming down to Kerala, then they would force them to shell out money and whatever they get right from 50/- to 250/-. All beggers, I am really ashamed to see all these in a state which claims to be 100% literare.

My dear, literacy has nothing to do with corruption. All this due to lack of sense of shame, lack of pride.

keepers of the law and supervisory authority

This issue has arised due to to a clear lack of supervisory authority over these policemen on election duty. Contempt for authority has become passe these days, due to this the common-man is made to suffer and made to wait. The police is not seen as acting on genuine complaints and now this, good going!

If this inident is true, then they must be given the highest punishment, since it is not just the offence but a bringing their position to disgrace. Well, Kerala police is generally well behaved however.
