Unlike abhramic religions hinduism is not monolithic and doesn't claim the divinity of one single book and God ( claims and efforts of vedantists nothwithstanding, trying to put Gita as equivalent to Koran or Bible). In hinduism history atheism has long tradition ( heard of Samkhya, charvaka and many others who decided to find their own truths). Of course for islamists and christists it will be impossible to comprehend.
India is hinduism as long as it allows diverse constantly evolving ways of life. But, yes India is no longer hinduism because of nefarious designs of abrahmic religionists who are trying to bring a monolithic order.
