Read The article properly. What they said is probably the best. Mayavati's a very divisive leader. She gained power through division by caste and creed.

her dalit card is as "parochial in the extreme" and as divisive as the marathi manoos MNS. Both are a "potentially bigger threat" that will take the India's oppressed back a few leaps to ironically, end up bolstering the system that has seemingly kept them in chains.

Show me one party which has not used caste,language, religion. Why single her out?
I don't like many things Mayawati does, but this attack on her by Newsweek is to malign and weaken her to make way for Sonia and her son.
Please read the article carefully. Mayawati is single biggest impediment to Sonia's and her foreign backers plan to backdoor imperialism in India.
Newsweek is guided by Fareed Zakaria, who is a friend of congjress party, and his father was a maha nehru-bhakt. Read old issues of Illustrated weekly of India of late 60s. Some Indian political parties have fallen victims of hidden muslim international agenda, and they will be hurt and also the US,INDIA AND WESTERN WORLD TOO. mark my word gentlemen ! and ladies !
Obama has not faced that much discrimination as Mayawati. In U.S. inequality, poverty, injustice, exploitation, etc. are not the problems. How the goals/aims of U.S. can be similar to that of a country where more than 6400 castes are there? Everything is decided on the basis of caste in general. Mayawati is representing large majority of these catses, which constitutes more than 90% population of India. What is the population of U.S.? Is it comparable with India? The most important task which Mayawati has performed is the selfrespect to these downtroden communities. It seems that the author of the articles either lacks comprehensive understanding of Indian conditions, difference between U.S. and India's political, economical, cultural scenario. Mayawati's task to many times novel, toughter, dignified and sacrifing than that of Obama. To me Obama is nowhere to Mayawati in this regard.

OBC's will understand her mission later. She is fighting for dalits, and OBC are also dalits.
I am a Christi@n, and I would like to implore all my fellow brethern to vote for the BJP. If the C0ngress gains power for the next term, we will soon have the T@liban in India, thanks to their policy of going ultra-s0ft on terr0r, and then can you imagine the condition of Christi@ns, $hias, @hmeddiy@s, and other minorities including Buddh1sts under T@liban rule? I have travelled to P@kistan, Kuw@it, S@udi Ar@bia, and UAE, and I have personally experienced how discriminated and repressed Christi@ns are there, without any recourse to justice. Already the T@liban have declared in Pak that dem0cracy is an @nathema to them, and the verdict of $haria courts cannot be challenged. Would you like to live under such conditions? That is why it is important for all min0rities (except probably the $unnis) to v0te for the BJP. I would also request all my friends and other patriotic Indians to copy my message and spread it amngst other patriotic Indians

Frankly christians are decent people and the chrisitianity has some of nicest values. But our converted christians should stop being a tool of foreign white missionaries, who are competing iwth Islam in India. We are simply hitting our own hindu brothers. We treat these missionaries with utmost repsect and give them ?everything? and when we go to their countries , we are treated with utter disgust, though hidden. Same goes with Muslims of India. the Arabs and other use them for their intellectuality and Indian education to fight the west diplomatically, but they, the Arabs have the LAST SAY. Take it or leave it. You too are hittingyour own borhters. What can happen if you burn people in a train with military planning? and then we compain and tarnish of the image of a state, a race and a country India, internationally. think. Are you blameless? See the history of a thousand years. Why THE GREAT GURUS had to raise their heads?
Since the psuedo-secular Indian media did not have the guts to say this, am happy the US media did. Mayawati is corrupt, self-serving and power blind like any other politician. Her being a Dalit is just incidental. No reason she should be treated with kid gloves for this. Unfortunately, the way politics plays out in India with regional/religious considerations more important that progress/development, I won't be surprised to see her as the PM. Coalition politics is after all a victory of the most manipulative.

The magazine is criticizing Mayawati because she is a threat to 'the established order' ..almost like Bhagat Singh was to the British established order.

If he had known that we would compare him to mayawati, I wonder whether he would have given his life for the freedom that u and I misuse... But then he was great, so he would have anyway been patriotic...
The Anglo Saxon powers have regained foot hold in India through Sonia. They control India's media, banks, RBI, election commission, intelligence agencies. They are afraid of anyone but Sonia coming back to power. The attack on Mayawati started as soon as they realized that she does have a decent chance to be the first dalit PM of India.
The western media and their stooges in India like NDTV, TOI, CCN-IBN will be sharpening their attacks against leaders like Mayawati because she represents poor Hindus and Msulims.

Mayawati is indeed a casteist, as well as pseudosecular [ read muslim leaguer] leader. She started her career on hate campaign against, Brahmins, Banias and kshtriya. Forget Western media.Remember , Mayawati was picked by Kanshiram and groomed in his shamelessly casteist politics. Preach your philosophy of not hating a person to Mayawati.What are Mayawati's qualifications to be a national leader? Being a Dalit can not be and must not be a basis for any higher post.
