WEALTHY CANDIDATES
by Dwaraka Nath on Apr 23, 2009 09:53 AM  | Hide replies

INCOME TAX AND ANTI CORRUPTION DEPARTMENTS ARE BLIND AND THEY DO NOT SEE REAL RICH IN INDIA. INCOME TAX HARRASSES ONLY THE SALARY CLASS AND POLITICIANS AND BUSINESS WHO EARN DISPROPORTIONATE TO THEIR DECLARATION ESCAPE.

Dwaraka I fully agree with your views. IT Department officials amass wealth only by helping these politicians. Its sad but true.

Wake up Citizens!
by slicktiger on Apr 23, 2009 08:14 AM  | Hide replies

It is time we take some serious steps to curtail corruption in our Democracy.
1. All parties must form/join an alliance and declare their prime minister candidate ahead of polls.
2. It is costing more than 1100 crores to conduct peaseful Elections in the country. Election process needs to be optimized to bring the cost down by 50% atleast. EVMs need to be built with fingerprint readers.
3. Cadidates need to declare actual assets. Anything not shown along with filing papers should be taken over by Govt.
4. On the lines of FBI a seperate investigative agency need to be setup to keep both eyes on elected leaders.

aam admi in last elections and now crorepatis
by navin chawla on Apr 23, 2009 07:03 AM

i think an MP is always an aam admi when he contests for the first time but once elected he becomes a crore pati for the entire remaining period. Now that is his capacity to collect money in one tenure or in many plans.Lalu was living with his brother inPatna in veternery college a few years back in aa small accomodation from where he built his empire of 9-10 children very smartly even without giving a chance to his brother and his wife to know what was going on in his single room aptt .So by the same corollary he has done the same by making crores without even letting the poor Biharis know how and when he ammeased so much except for one small case of 900 crores of fodder scam, which is too small a case worth even mentioning.
